Festive season means spending more money which requires making more money which necessitates a scheme to make such money which means going out there to solicitate money from those who have some money and are unfamiliar with laws and don’t want to ruin their holiday so agree to pay cash to make it go away.

The other 360 days following would be a better time for some crime

Foreigners are the problem, Thai's are little angels who follow all laws and rules, which is why they don't patrol the streets outside of the walking streets. It's called a 3rd World cesspool, where laws/rules/regulations are on the books, but none enforced.

or Thais are too poor to extort money from, but foreigners do have the money, and know the RTP reputation, and are the biggest Thai mafia.

Ongoing operations will engage in rigorous checks from December 11 to 17

Always good to give the criminals a schedule in advance 👍

Looks more like the bunch been going out eating and drinking Hong Tong than fighting any type of crime.😂

They don't look like they have left their air-conditioned cubicles for 20 years, other than to gorge themselves at the food vendors blocking traffic outside their office, now they are the saviors of Thailand?......LOL

Could be collecting tea money for no helmet

The article is about Thai Immigration Police. Not allowed to interfere with Thai Traffic Police responsibilities.

This must be why you never see them after 5pm for the rest of the year - tired out after having to actually do some work over the holidays.
