How to keep Mangos?

I buy too much because that's the way they sell cheaper. How can I keep them fresh longest?

In a Fridge? Do they get watery? I haven't tried yet.

Slice, dice, and freeze. Otherwise they should last in the fridge a good week depending on the ripeness. Green mangoes can sit outside of a fridge for a good couple of weeks and longer in the fridge.

How do know what kind of green mangos to buy? To me raw and ripe feels same...

You're kidding right?

Right now is about as far as you can get from sweet mango season. But if you like them sour you are fine. The Thai's often use a dip called Nam Pla Wan and dip the green mango before eating.

That explain why I don't see them as before.

When I pick it's often not ripe. When my Thai gf picks they are great! And to me both looked same...

 

Thailand have SO MANY fruits! I try to learn. I know bananas pretty well.

I love fresh fruits.

Interesting.....also found this.....could be....... as we were inundated last year.....

 

Alternate Bearing

 

Mango trees are known for alternate bearing, which means they produce fruit in cycles. If your tree had an exceptionally large crop last year, it may have depleted its energy reserves, leading to little or no fruit this year. Trees sometimes take a rest year to recover.
