Maybe Aussies of your socio-economic class, but most world leaders wish they could have had the economic growth the US enjoyed from 2020 until today, along with massive stock market gains.

People of every ilk, however, did laugh at 47 and his "sharks circling a sinking electric boat", "Arnold Palmer's junk", "that great guy Hannibal Lecter", plus a supposed billionaire schlepping golden sneakers, Chinese-printed autographed Bibles, or NFTs of a bloated fat guy pretending to be an astronaut or fighter pilot, in spite of his bone spurs.

I agree. Biden's handlers got my funds on track.

I would have thought qualifications, relevant experience and support of the Constitution should come well before loyalty to trump.

Short memory span?

Trump had them last time and they were a disaster. This lot are hardly going to do worse than Kelly or Bolton.

IMO all those with so called qualifications, relevant experience and support of the Constitution ( LOL ) are the preserve of Washington swamp creatures, and I doubt Trump is going to be so foolish as to go there this time- the swamp is the enemy, remember?

I just mean I'm grateful for my retirement fund growing, but I very seriously doubt any credit goes towards Biden.

I watched distinguished gentleman last night with Eddie Murphy. Swamp creatures indeed.

Give the new blood a chance.

The experienced previous admistration like Joe did not present a good impression on the world stage.

You may have reason to criticise the new recuits later   but certainly not before they even start their new jobs.

This is what Trump does, he did it in his first term and he simply repeating himself. He does not go for high quality, he does not go for highly qualify, he goes for relatively weak-minded people who are also very obedient.

That's the primary qualification, so expect low quality appointments, expect a huge turnover, expect a lot of people to be thrown under the bus, and expect another 4 years of the Trump circus. The last thing in the world that you should expect is a well-run government that is performing effectively.

It amuses me that people give credit to POTUS when most of them probably have zero idea of how an economy works.

As always they listen to advisors and then draw a straw to see which policy to implement. 50/50 chance it'll work. IMO.

That includes Trump.

Yes, the memory is pretty sharp. Why I can remember a time when someone who tried to start a coup d'etat would be prosecuted, not get elected POTUS. Those were the days, back when America was on a path to Great. Next month, the decline begins.

As for Biden being a hero, no, he's just infinitely superior to the guy he trounced by 7 million votes in 2020. 45 inherited a growing economy and 4.8% UE, but left Biden a Recession and 6.8% UE. Today the US, under my non-hero Biden, is growing 3 times faster than the average G7 nation, experienced the longest period of UE below 4% in 64 years, and has lower inflation that the vast majority of the world's nations. Oh, and it produces more energy than it uses. Not bad.

Your hero, I predict, will mess things up, just as he did last time. Failure is what he does best. Absent his allowance, daddy co-signed loans, and inheritance, he'd be pouring Slurpies in a 7-11 at a truckstop on an Interstate in Keokuk, Iowa. Mark Burnett made him a hero among the forlorn and poorly educated, which is the only reason he is where he is.

Maybe your memory is not so great after all. How many times has Trump been prosecuted and persecuted already?

So  strange that these 7 million votes in 2020 simply vanished again in 2024. What's that  all about, I wonder?

Yes 45 inherited a slow growing economy, which continued until Covid (something you never mention) and which caused this brief recession and the temporary 6.8% UE. Today the US is growing faster than the average G7 nation but all growth rates are very low. UE is already higher than pre-Covid (2019) levels, despite most of the recent jobs added being only temporary service work, health and healthcare, or part of a hugely expanding government "workforce". Inflation is already rising again, as are real interest rates -despite recent rate cuts the Fed is losing control now and while debt levels in all classes were already crazy, the Biden Bunch kept borrowing after Covid. The whole country runs on extreme debt and your hero is the biggest cause of that now.

I've noticed that they never mention covid when denigrating Trump's economy. It's like it never existed for them.

If it wasn't so pathetic it'd be funny.

Here's a thought. No one knows the future, so any guess is probably as good as any other guess. Best can do is consider the alternatives and pick the best looking one. Then it's up to fate if it works or not.

I have that sort of decision to make all the time and it's not easy to choose. Add the entire world and there are probably about a zillion things affecting any decision.

I just work on the principle that it's always likely going to get worse for me and so far rarely been wrong.

If there is actually a working crystal ball in the W H, it's been kept secret, but as they get it wrong all the time, I doubt it.

You can't equate the first time to now. He hasn't got Sessions stabbing him in the back, he won't have losers like Kelly or Bolton sabotaging him.

He's 8 years wiser than when he first moved into the W H, a chicken waiting to be plucked and roasted by the swamp creatures.

Also, unlike the first time, he has supporters or at least those too afraid to go against him in congress.

I'm pickin' this time won't be anything like the last time. He'll be harder and more bloody minded, and he'll be out to settle scores with the swamp creatures.

I'm really certain that there will be no BS Russia hoax clown shows by the Dems, or made up impeachments. This time it'll be full steam ahead and the Dems better get out of the way or get run over by the Trump train. Toot toot!

I'll leave your opinion on biden out of it, but no, the world certainly didn't laugh at him.

Believe me , coming from a third world country we observed the beginning of the end with Biden and his idiotic behaviour and the adminastration trying to cover it up , we also observed Trump in the background with his bully boy antics and thought you should rather change the old adage to GOD HELP AMERICA , however , we in the third world are most grateful for sensible leadership coming from China and Russia , we will continue to watch the collective west wallow in their faeces

Bidens foreign policy program has been nothing short of disastrous starting with his afghan withdrawal which he alone botched for ignoring advise from his military leaders. And, yeah Biden's done a masterful job of lighting a huge fire <deleted>-storm in the ME after Trump set up peace with Abraham Accords, and then what happened to all the sanctions against Iran imposed by Trump and cancelled by Biden who then sent them billions, empowering/emboldening Iran inccing cloer to armageddon. Yesterday Biden's muppet navy shot down two of their own F18's launched from one carrier and shot by another nearby US ship. Biden screwed up EVERYTHING big time. He's feckless, corrupt, mentally unfit, committed espionage by stealing and selling classified materials. You may think he restored US's reputation, so explain exactly how he achieved that and why is he MIA now while Trump has rolled up his sleeves to save America from further Biden "reputation stability" you mumble on about. About the only people not interested in restoring peace in UA IS BIDEN! Whats he done to bring peace,,,,I'll tell yah....he's done NOTHING but stoke the war, giving just enough aid to Zelenskyy to keep fighting but not enough to win. Biden restored nothing and it's lucky for the country he and Kamala are done.

You are speaking from a position of absolute ignorance. The USN is under the control of career naval officers, most of whom received their command commissions during the Trump administration.  Their first duty is to the US Constitution. The fact is that friendly fire losses are a common occurrence in a battle zone. Who are you to 2nd guess the loss ot the F16? Have you ever commanded a naval vessel during a missile attack? No, but here you are to  blame anyone and everyone because it fits your ignorant political agenda.  You can blame  Biden all you want, but Trump left US political relations in a shambles and Biden's administration spent years repairing the damage.

Yesterday, Trump threatened Panama threatening to invade a sovereign nation and seize a canal that is not the USA's That's the ignorant mindset of his collective. If that is done, the USA will be subject to the same sanctions as Russia is in the Crimea. Trump won't be happy until he has alienated the USA from the world. Eventually, Americans will be prisoners in their own fetid nation unwelcome in the world and unable to travel except to their lackey nations.

The Biden administration has done rather well. What exactly did it do wrong?

Ukraine: It has supported Ukraine's  resistance against an illegal and barbaric invasion from despot Putin's Russia.

Gaza: Gaza started a war with its breaking of a truce and continuous firing of rockets and missiles into Israel. What did you expect  the USA to do? It has provided large amounts of humanitarian aid over the decades that the local arabs have misused.

Syria: What did you want the USA to do? Invade? You would be complaining if  teh USA had a presence in Syria. Make up your mind.

Haiti: What do you expect the USA to do? Haiti is a sovereign nation. Again, you expect the USA to intervene. To what point? There is no benefit to the USA  of a presence in Haiti.

You complain for the sake of complaining. Wait. Trump will create an international mess the likes you haven't seen since a National Lampoon movie.

Except that is not how the Trump appointees and entourage live. Theirs is one of ostentatious display and pretentious conspicuous consumption.
