The mysterious death of a 45-year-old Thai woman in Jomtien, Chonburi, has left local authorities perplexed, as her foreign partner was found living with her decomposing body for three days.

The woman, identified as Duangta Khampongsom, from Sisaket province, was discovered at approximately 13.00 on December 22, in a fifth-floor room No. 505, of a commercial apartment building in Jomtien. Police and emergency services were alerted by Mr. Prayoon Chinsai, 57, the building’s caretaker, to a report of a suspicious death.

Upon arrival, they found Duangta’s body in a state of decomposition, indicating she had been dead for at least three days. She was found lying on a bed, wearing only denim shorts, with no signs of struggle or disturbance in the room.

Duangta had been staying with 77-year-old Irishman Mr. Bearach Beataidh, who had reportedly been renting the room since 16th October, initially on a daily basis and later transitioning to a monthly arrangement.

Authorities quickly located Bearach, who had left the apartment earlier that morning and was walking along Jomtien Beach, in a confused and incoherent state, near the Grand Jomtien Hotel. He was taken in for questioning.

Bearach stated that Duangta had been working in a local bar and was  assaulted by a group of people before arriving at his apartment on 18th December. She later vomited and appeared to fall asleep. When she failed to wake up the following day, he assumed she was merely exhausted.

Bearach denied realising she had passed away, stating that he did not smell any odour from her body. That is why he didn’t report it or alert the apartment management.

Instead, he allowed the body to remain in the room, where it began to decompose and emit a foul odour, which spread throughout the building, prompting complaints from other residents.  He had continued to stay at the apartment with her body on the bed

Further investigation revealed that Bearach had frequently brought different women to stay at the apartment. Authorities are now questioning him further, as they remain sceptical of his account. They are working to determine whether Duangta’s death was due to natural causes, drug use, or if foul play was involved.

The body has been sent for a forensic autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Investigations into the death are ongoing. No charges have been filed yet, until further evidence can confirm the circumstances surrounding Ms. Duangta’s untimely death.

An Irishman denied any knowledge of his Thai girlfriend’s death after reportedly staying with her body for three days in an apartment in Pattaya before other residents noticed the unpleasant odour.

Officers from Mueang Pattaya Police Station were called to the five-storey apartment in Banglamung district, Pattaya, to investigate the mysterious death of 45 year old Thai woman Duangta. Police, accompanied by a medical team and rescuers, arrived at the scene at around 1pm yesterday, December 22.

In the fifth-floor room, officers discovered Duangta’s body on the bed. She was wearing only denim shorts and no shirt. Her body was in an advanced state of decomposition, and it was estimated that she had been dead for at least three days prior to being found.

There were no signs of a struggle or physical assault in the room. The foreign man staying with her, 77 year old Irishman Bearach Beataidh, was not present at the scene. Reportedly, he left the apartment on the morning of the day the caretaker decided to check inside the room.

Police located Beataidh later that same day, walking along Jomtien Beach near the Grand Jomtien Palace Hotel. He was escorted back to the apartment for questioning.

Beataidh claimed that Duangta was physically assaulted by someone and requested to stay in the room with him. According to his account, the woman had been staying with him since December 18, while he checked into the apartment on December 16. He initially rented the room daily before changing to a monthly rental agreement.

Beataidh did not report Duangta’s death to the apartment staff and remained in the room with her decomposing body until yesterday. He insisted that he had no idea what caused her death.

Apartment staff revealed that Beataidh frequently brought different women to the room but had never exhibited suspicious behaviour.

Duangta’s body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy to determine whether she died from natural causes or as a result of foul play.

Sounds like the poor chap is suffering from dementia.

RIP to the lady...........dementia for sure and possible Covid affected his sense of smell........I still have problems smelling some things, almost five years later, like I can smell coffee just fine, but not bacon cooking.

I think the Irishman is innocent he’s just old and suffering a little mental problems he didn’t wanna wake up the beautiful young lady he thought she was sleeping and he also said that she said that she had some problems or she was assaulted earlier so I think the guy is 100% innocent TIT

Maybe the beating she had prior to coming to his room had something to do with it?

Didn’t read in the article that the deceased was of the Christian religion?

What is wrong with that...Age difference..no, they are (were) both adults and don't need to ask anyones permission. No taking advantage ..or both do it is win/win for both

Take your wrong moral elsewhere..this is Thailand

He certainly doesn't look mean. However he must have known she was dead. Probably walking round for a couple of days wondering what to do.

Well, looks are so subjective... That is something extremely difficult to ascertain anything by.... One of those subjective things would be one's experience or ideas about men of his age with full sleeve tattoos on both arms. The only men I've known like that of his age definitely led VERY questionable or outright immoral or violent lives at the typical age men might get full sleeve tattoos like that. I don't think you'll find many men over the age of 60 getting tattooed up like that. But, who knows... it could mean nothing more than he loves the art.
And as you mentioned about him walking around for a couple of days - Since they found him "walking along Jomtien Beach, in a confused and incoherent state", it begs the question of his mental state, for sure. He just as well may have killed her and not even realized it as much as it could be that his story is totally true.
Not like anyone on this forum can figure it out from a vague news article. But interesting to hypothesize anyway.... And amazing to see how some people come up with some pretty incredible hypotheses!🤯
It would be interesting to hear the final outcome of the investigation, but it seems that the news so extremely rarely ever follows through like that. I guess it isn't sensational enough.

Something not right with the guy involved 😕 Who keeps a dead body in their room saying nothing to anyone

Will be interesting to see what the Autopsy  reveals 🤔

The full arm tattoos are a red flag. This guy could have a violent past. Possibly started to slap the girl around and went too far. I've heard from a few girls who've encountered violent customers.

Yah, that sounds totally convincing. A very honest man clearly and totally innocent.

Imagine that, a girlfriend who can go for days without speaking.  Talk about a fantasy girl.

He probably is used to get the "silent treatment" from her. I do not see anything wrong that he waited 3 days. Thats usually how long it takes for a thai woman to get back to normal. You can shorten that by giving her some gold, but why would you.

That's because of the vaccine that your smelling is not right not because of covid , the pharmacy put deadly things in it alot of people died and injured because of the covid vaccines
