The Pelicot Rape

I'm curious to hear the opinions on this case from the 'sexperts' on this forum.

According to the evidence and admissions made, Mr.Pelicot arranged the rape of his unconscious wife over a 9 year period. Over 70 men were alleged to be involved, and about 50 were tracked down and have been convicted of Mrs.Pelicots rape. I understand that in some instances the 'attacks' were multiple simultaneous rapes by many different men. A gang rape in other words.

My problem is that I really find it hard to believe that a woman could be regularly drugged into unconsciousness over a 9 year period without suspecting something. Furthermore, I think most women can tell when there has been sexual penetration of their body even if it occurred while unconscious - and more so when the penetration was by multiple dicks, and probably in a rough or aggressive manner. Am I wrong in that?

All of this puts serious doubts in my mind as to the truth of this whole story, at least in terms of the womans shock and amazement at being shown the video evidence.

Does anyone else find it strange, indeed unbelievable, that she was in total ignorance of what was going on?

The guy is a monster, as well as the guys who participated in the abuse

 

I thought the sentences for  the abusing men were crazy lenient

I disagree only on one point, I reckon that the trial was handled masterly, thanks to Madame Pelicot in the largest part. She is an amazing Lady.

The weirdest things can happen.

 

Once had contact with a for me known adult Thai woman.

I think if some of them can prove they only used their fingers they shouldn't really be prosecuted.

Totally agree there, he has been implicated in at least one other premeditated rape, and a murder.

But I really wonder about her story of total innocence and ignorance. I know lots of couples get their kicks in various kinky ways. Lots of guys get off on seeing their wife shagged by strangers.

Some women seem to like rape fantasies, maybe with an element of 'unconsciousness' added to spice it up more. One only has to look at the spectrum of bizarre porn out there to understand there are people into all sorts of weird stuff. Including extreme bondage and sadism. I'm curious about the Pelicots background story. Since he's a man who liked such 'games' I doubt he'd pair off with a little innocent woman, which is how she's been portrayed. Is it not possible she too was an enthusiastic participant - right up to the point where she was implicated too in some criminal case against her husband?

I have read the French don’t like to use condoms, I guess sticky and congealed applies. More so, if multiple participants.

Possibly, her husband cleaned her up.

She should have been sore too, unless she lubricated subconsciously.

When she woke up in the morning after being sedated for 12 hours, she surely had some sense of being drugged. I sometime take a mild sleeping tablet, and the sleepy effects continue on waking up for a few hours thereafter.

Possibly, there are medical grade drugs that eliminate such consequences. On top of this, would there not some sort of addiction such that she cannot now sleep without similar medication.

I wonder if she continues with some sort of strong sleep medication, now medically prescribed to cover this condition.

It was a very curious and strange case. I did wonder whether Mrs Pelicot ever felt the physical aspects of these events afterwards or indeed ever felt drowsy or drugged? 
 

I can understand why some men would participate in a sex game involving a husband and wife but once they arrived and realised the wife could not give consent what were they thinking of? They all deserve to be jailed and publicly shamed.

Mostly I only read the headlines and not the details.

It seems to me this is a one in a million case and not comparable to much else.

And for most people, who never raped anybody and were never raped, and didn't talk to anyone involved in a rape, it will be difficult to understand what happened.

I think the best we can hope for is that the judges looked at the details and made the right decision.

It is about this sexcase and if it is "weird", so comparing with other sex things, we can say it is not.

Now it has been brought out in the open, some people maybe amazed, shocked. But it isnt really in this world.

Above text raises some serious questions.

After 9 years, the lady finally realises "that something happened" below her belt while being drugged. After 9 years!!!

At least at some time (in the beginning) the lady may have shown signs of "co-opperation".

Now, having found out that "outing" herself, could mean "fame and fortune" in old age?

- Of course, I would not dare to voice such doubts in public as I would be chasdised for the rest of my life, being titled a "rape supporter". Only because I am not buying the victims story 100%.

I am French and I have been distantly following this case as it showed up regularly in my news feeds.

 

It's the story of a bunch of severely twisted people, as there always have been and always will be.

 

But the French media and politicians are trying to turn it into some kind of feminist, societal and civilisational cause by implying it happened because of "patriarchy" and all that BS (which basically implies that any guy in France could have ended up doing that twisted stuff because society allows it… when it really was just 50 deranged guys meeting on obscure forums to do deranged stuff).

She testified in court that she had urological issues for years, but that neither she nor her doctors could really pinpoint it. She also frequently had "absences" due to the heavy drugging by her husband, which led her to believe she had some serious neurological issue. At no point, she claims, did she suspect her beloved husband could be doing this… and she apparently only found out about it when the police told her and showed her the footage of her being abused by all these guys while the husband was overseeing.

 

The husband was arrested after being caught filming under a woman's skirt in a supermarket. Then the cops seized his PC and found loads of footage of his wife being abused by other guys in a folder called "À son insu" (which translates as "Without her knowledge").

The husband was sentenced to 20 years and the other guys between 3 and 15 years.

One can see such things all day long on any porn site, by consenting and willing women.

 

Having some knowledge of female anatomy ( part of my job ) and knowing something about sex, unless they used a gallon of lube, IMO there is no way a woman can wake up and not know that she was involved in sex.

As for the drugs, some induce forgetfulness, but if they were used I do not know. The Date rape drug has been around for years.

That is the part I find most troubling. I doubt that 70 men could be found willing to rape an unconcious woman and not tell their friends about it. It's just too many to keep it a secret, IMO. With that many men, IMO at least one or two would have talked to someone about it.

That it went on for so long without being exposed is the doubt in my mind.

 

Given I know that some women will do such willingly ( as seen on porn sites ) I suspect there is more to this than has been told.

I've also found the "fingering is also rape" thing to be kind of weird.  They obviously aren't the same.  You would feel differently if someone put their finger inside you than if they put their penis inside you, had sex with you, and climaxed, so it seems unfair to say that someone who did the former has committed the same crime as someone who did the latter.
