Which is why I'm watching Platoon, Mash, and probably will cue up The Godfather series. There is very little whether movies or TV that is worth watching any more. I'm not saying that a lot of mindless people like watching CGI and "reality TV," they do, but I'm not one of them. And I'm reading more lately like The Third Reich Trilogy by Richard Evans. The parallels between 19th and 20th Century Europe and Europe today is deeply disturbing. 2 1 1 1

I agree with you about a lack of quality movies, but the standard of TV has never been better. The Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Gomorrah, SAS Rogue Heroes, Landman, Masters of the Air etc were all excellent. If you think there's nothing to watch anymore, you're either not looking hard enough or you're stuck in the past IMO. 1 1 1

Maybe it's not the age but more 'watching' it as Wallpaper, while doing other things. Depends on the movies/series of course.

The problem is that if you wanted to legally get everything watchable you'd need to subscribe dozens of services. Thankfully that doesn't concern me. 1 2

Popular Post jas007 Posted Wednesday at 12:57 PM Popular Post Posted Wednesday at 12:57 PM I watched Episode 1 of a new AppleTV+ show the other night called "See." It's about a bunch of people who cannot see. I'm not sure when it supposedly takes place, but they all look like cavemen. They live in a well-protected mountain top area and have lived there for a log time, apparently. And they have to fight off attackers without being able to see. Anyway, I stopped after Episode 1. I can't figure out whether I should waste any more time with it, as it seems sort of stupid. Maybe it gets better? 1 2
Popular Post Cameroni Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM Popular Post Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM I just started "9 years of You", a Thai series about two best friends, male and female, who become more than friends. It started out already with her cheating, so very true to life. 3

Shows you what I know about what's "new." I saw an article mentioning it and later noticed it on my Apple TV+ lineup, so I thought it was something new. Anyway, I'll probably skip watching any more of it for now.

Maybe for times when there's no Internet hookup? On a long flight, for example. Depending on the storage capacity of your iPad, for example, you can probably fit a few movies on it, at least. I have an iPad Pro with only 256 gb, and yet, apparently, it could hold more than a few movies. From Perplexity: Calculating approximate movie count on 256 GB: • Considering some storage is used by the system and apps, assume about 230 GB available for movies. • For 1080p movies averaging 3 GB each, you could store around 75 movies (230 GB ÷ 3 GB ≈ 75). • For 720p movies averaging 1.8 GB each, you could store about 127 movies (230 GB ÷ 1.8 GB ≈ 127). • For 4K movies averaging 40 GB each (2 hours), you could store about 5 movies (230 GB ÷ 40 GB ≈ 5). 1

Doesn’t have to be new to get mentioned here! If it’s good it’s welcome. If, in your opinion it’s not so .. that’s just as valuable. You just confirmed what I saw in the trailer. Any thoughts on “stick” - seems OK, maybe not hilarious, just feel-good tv. 2

I enjoyed episode 1 of Stick. It's been compared to Ted Lasso. 1
