The outrageous clip, posted on TikTok by user @armankremer with hashtags like #basejump and #urbex, ignited a storm of online criticism and has prompted the mall to press trespassing charges. The video, captioned “Business trip to Bangkok,” shows the men leaping from the mall’s rooftop, landing near Benjasiri Park, and then speeding away on motorcycles through busy Sukhumvit traffic. The incident, which occurred on October 3, after the park’s closing hours, has been labelled reckless by police. Police Colonel Pansa Amarapitak of Thonglor Police Station confirmed that the three culprits—identified as Arman Kremer, Mateo Leo Massoni, and Blake Smith—are seasoned base jumpers with a history of similar stunts across Europe and Asia. Security footage revealed the trio’s elaborate infiltration: parking motorcycles near Benjasiri Park, using a public elevator to access the fourth-floor parking area, and then climbing fire escape stairs to the rooftop. Their dramatic escape route even included weaving through flower pots to reach their bikes. Immigration records show the men were in Thailand from late September to mid-October. The mall’s management has since filed a police complaint, accusing the trio of trespassing. In response to the incident, Emsphere and its sister malls have ramped up security, installing rooftop surveillance cameras and deploying 24-hour guards to prevent copycat stunts. While the skydivers have already left Thailand, the video’s backlash and the looming charges are far from over, reported Police TV (Royal Thai Police). Source: The Thaiger -- 2025-01-02 1 3 3 1

You'll shoe-horn in any logic to have a dig at the Thai's - its pathetic. Base-jumping in a busy area is an activity not only dangerous for those taking part, but can have innocent victims too - If something goes wrong, pedestrians underneath and those in the landing area are at risk. The authorities are 100% correct for attempting to deal with this issue - although it was 3 months ago, and I suspect those who took part are no longer in Thailand. 1 1 1 6 1 6 10

I'm 'having a go' at your persistent need to bash Thailand.... its completely unnecessary and boresome, you can be better than that. I've no idea about my 'list of enemies' - those who find my comments so disagreeable they find reason to take personal affront matter very little to me, they are often incapable of intelligent discussion and resort to getting upset. Meanwhile, the vast majority of the form remains with whom to hold intelligent, informative and interesting discussion and debate. 1 2 1 4 1

I don't disagree with that - while its tragic that some see no other option there is a significant element of selfishness in putting others at physical risk, also the horrific cleanup... this kind of eliminates some of the initial sympathy felt. 1 1

I wouldn't exactly suggest that 'breaking a law and getting charged for it' would be considered 'interference, in pretty much every country in the world, its called policing !!! 2 1 1

Not really, but accidents happens, same as if you drive high speed at the highway to much to often to stupid, you will finely have an accident. Back in the days when I started we figured out an estimated statistic 1 fatal jump pr 1000 jumps, in the early 2000 around 1 fatal jumps pr 2500, but organized jumps we had from KL tower and Petronas excided those numbers greatly and very few accidents happened in organized events world around. Can't say an exact number since I have been out for so many years now, but more than 10 000 jumps for each fatality. This is high risk activity that is easy to do for anyone who want to do, but reckless stupid activity pays off in worst ways, as well lack of talent and understanding. I survived around 500 jumps before retirement. I started out without any profiled jumpers around me, and very few base jumpers where active at that time. Many who had done one or two, but very few who jumped actively. Bandit jumps in the city at night was one of the most thrilling exiting jumps I did, as well day blasting in Paris jumping the "Le Grande Arch" at Saturday lunch time. Was chased by security and police for hours. Great party at Budda bar later that evening. Opening new big walls was another thrill back then when nobody else had jumped before you.
