Shopee - The recipient's location pin is incorrect.

Featured Replies

Anyone seen this before?

>The courier tried to deliver the package to you but was unsuccessful. This causes the package to be returned to the sender because: The recipient's location pin is incorrect.

I've been using Shopee for several years at the same home address and this was a first for me and assume all the addressing and pins are automatic so it cannot be finger trouble? The only difference was this time I chose express delivery so delivery would be guaranteed next day, or I'd get a partial refund coupon for a slow delivery, whereas in the end I got nothing at all, except a credit card full refund.

There are all kinds of pins all over the digital world. Who created your pin, how and on what input from whom?

Have you checked that your pinned location is correct?

Shopee I would guess? Been using them for several years at the same address.

My conspiracy theory is that because they couldn't deliver on schedule and a voucher would need paying out they decided to cancel the order with the pin excuse.

The way you describe it, the courier made a typing error when when he typed your address into his navigation device or having typed the address correctly, the map used by the device put the pin in the wrong spot.

Not all devices use the same navigation app and not all navigation apps use the same map.

Open the Shopee app, tap on Me at lower right side,  than on settings icon at the top, my addresses, tap on your address, you will see the pin and can click on the map to adjust the pin location if neccessary.

Thank you for this info. I never knew about these pins, and indeed the pin was different to the text input address I have been using for several years, so I moved it. I only have ever used the web site before but like the mobile app both have pin's in the account settings. I wonder if pins were introduced later than when I originally opened my account?

I suppose this one order is the first time in hundreds of orders where the delivery person was only using the pin and not my address as printed on the parcel.

Just fixed it in shopee.

In Lazada app I could not find a pin.

But still most important: phone number of the daughter on my orders 😊

some couriers will openly lie about deliveries, I have had it several times over the years, even had one courier deliver my packge to someone over 100 klm away. A lot comes down to which courier they use, some have no problem lying about not being able to deliver for various reasons, no one home or courier was phoned asking to delay delivery for another day seem to be the most popular.

I have a problem with an online taxi service. I key in my address which gives a well known / registered gated moo bahn address. But on screen the pin is sometimes (not every time) showing in the next moo bahn.

Taxi cannot find me so I then use the box provided to send  a written message direct to the driver restating my full correct address (automatically translated to Thai). I've written to the online taxi service, they say the pin system is owned by another company who refuse to listen to issues / comments.

So this is how Shopee handles it. If they send the GPS coordinates of the pin location to the courier's mobile phone app, the couriers don't have to type in the adress and they get always exactly the same location.

The couriers who delivered despite the somewhat imprecise coordinates obviously were better in finding the recipients address in the vicinity of the pin location than the latest courier mentioned in the OP.
