If the OP is worried about PUSH-BACK from a Taxi Driver that has become angered by a bad review...

Then how fortunate for him that he had not been riding with Travis Bickle....

Never get into an argument or any sort of confrontation with a Taxi Driver in New York or Thailand.

This is the lesson you need to learn.

And, mark my words!

Note:  Personally, I give Travis a TOP review, 10 out of 10...!

How is it well known??

do you often ask taxi drivers if they can see your reviews?.

your complete fabrication holds no water at all!

Do you know that as a rider, the taxi driver also gives you a review?  The review process is exactly the same for both riders and drivers.  Did you get notified after he reviewed you?

You can't even see individual reviews.   You can only see your average review.

Your story is obviously total fiction.

For Grab - the drivers 'star rating' is an average of the last 100 reviews (on a 5 star rating).

There is a delay in updating the 'score' to protect the customer (I'm certain what the delay but have read somewhere that is 72 hours)

If 100 customers gave a 5 star rating - obviously the driver would see an average 5* rating over past 100 rides.

If the last customer gave a 1 star rating - the last 100 ratings would equal an average  4.96* rating

So, if a driver took no more passengers over the next few days (~72 hours) the driver might see is rating drop and be able to work out who gave him the low rating.

In GRAB customers cannot see their own rating - that is for the benefit of the drivers only.

In BOLT we can see our own ratings.

Bobs story about an angry driver returning because he received a low rating is 100% bull<deleted>...   no surprises there.

In fact, I had been totally taken in by his story.

You mean....

His account is not based on a true account?

I'm still in the tourist ghetto sadly and last night I used a popular ride hailing app to get me from A to B.

His attitude was bad from the get go. Complaining about this and that, too far, traffic, no money etc etc..

So when I finally arrived at my destination I gave him a 1 star review, as the app allows for that. I was visiting a friend who is sadly very ill.

About 20 minutes later he shows up at my friends residence again absolutely fuming, demanding that I change the review because it damages his reputation. I politely explained that the review merely mirrored the service I received and he should work on his attitude when dealing with customers. He told me to eff off in thai and drove away in a fit of rage.  He hasn't been back since and I'm leaving the ghetto now.

Charming chap, wouldn't you say?? How can they ever improve if they can't take even a single iota of criticism?

You must speak extremely fluent, colloquial Thai to have partaken in those exchanges. The driver chases you down for a 1 star review? And rants in Thai? I'm in total disbelief.

And you? Was was your part in that conversation?

We read here only your side.

Strange that you will teach Thai people a better behaviour?

More tolerance might help you.

He didn't, it's just another made up story to add to your list.

Bobby you have got a very fertile mind. You are wasting your talents here. You should be in Hollywood working as a script writer on fantasty movies.

Posting negative reviews in Thailand can get you jailed.  Most Thai businesses have no idea of creating customer loyalty or a good reputation.  Criticism can get you sued.  Trip Advisor has a statutory warning about it.

Don’t keep us waiting too long though matey, these gripping stories of yours have become the only highlight of my day. They are what I live for!

You will find a bottle of whisky, a glass and a revolver on the table in the ante-room.

You obviously  have little experience with these apps. Please do the research before posting

The driver  does not know the origin of a rating and the ratings are not immediately shared. This is intended to protect the passenger.

So how did he know then??

I think you're being called a liar for making up the story - I would tend to agree - there is no way a driver knows what a specific customer's review 🙄

...errrrr, cos WE ARE PAYING?????

don't think too much, Richard, you will give yourself a migraine!

Just because you're paying doesn't Entitle you to act a fool and treat people as trash. Drivers should know if a customer is a Bob and be able to avoid accepting the person

You know nothing.  What a shame. If the rider did a lousy review immediately after the ride, what makes you think, oh, I assume you know how to think, forgive me, that the driver can't figure out the horrible review 2 minutes after the ride?

Firstly, I should state that I haven't read the whole thread, for probably obvious reasons.

I'm eternally baffled why such topics generate so many responses.  Although I might be accused of hypocrisy, surely it's not a great idea to 'take the bait' or give it the oxygen of publicity by responding?

I intend no disrespect to Bob/Colin but when I see that he is a the starter of a topic, it is completely predictable where it is going to go.  Perhaps someone can explain the allure of engaging in such topics...
