Photographer arrested for obscene content on OnlyFans, earns over 2 million baht

A well-known photographer, 46 year old Thanakrit, was apprehended by the Metropolitan Investigation Bureau for distributing obscene images and videos of models on the subscription platform OnlyFans, reportedly earning over 2 million baht (US$57,590). The photographer, known by the nickname Ohm, has previously faced charges of obscenity.

 

The arrest followed a complaint from a model, who alleged that the photographer had coerced her into participating and later discovered her images online.

 

Yesterday, January 11, senior officials, including Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom, oversaw the operation. The arrest took place at Thanakrit’s residence in a notable village on Ekkachai Road, Bang Bon district, Bangkok.

 

The accused was charged under Section 287 of the Criminal Code, which penalises those who produce, distribute, or display obscene materials. Further charges under the Computer Crime Act of 2007 were also levied.

Thanakrit’s home doubled as a photography studio, where he allegedly captured and distributed lascivious content. Upon searching the premises with a court warrant from the Thonburi Criminal Court, police found evidence, including a Samsung smartphone and computer equipment.

 

The devices contained numerous obscene images, some linked to his OnlyFans account, accessible to subscribers for a fee.

 

Upon interrogation, Thanakrit admitted to operating on OnlyFans for approximately three years, generating significant income. The police have detained him for further legal proceedings at Bang Bon police station.

 

Police Major General Theeradej Thamsutee, Head of the Investigation Bureau, urged caution among models and modelling agencies. He advised thorough discussions regarding contracts and shooting details, recommending bringing a companion to shoots to ensure safety, reported KhaoSod.

 

He warned against trusting photographers without adequate verification, stressing the importance of safeguarding one’s future over financial incentives.

In related news, Thai police arrested a 46 year old prominent photographer for selling explicit images of models on VK and OnlyFans, earning him hundreds of thousands of baht monthly. He was previously arrested in 2020 for lewd acts involving victims.

Personally I think if a person wants t do a page to make money then it is a good thing.  let them do it as long as they are respetful and don't film outside in the parks or public beaches.

 

Thai governemtn can not tax this so they want to outlaw it.  This is too bad but again we hae to treat the people of Thailand like little children and protect them as such.

How is the public damaged by a private subscription only platform? It isn't in the subject case.

That's a civil case. Police are to enforce criminal laws following the Penal Code. Allegation is irrelevant to law enforcement and arrest. Was the model held against her permission, raped, threatened with violence, etc. that are aspects of criminal acts? No evidence or allegations were produced.

this is the same culture and government that says in the news we are going to show there is no prostituion on walking street announces whenthey are going togo there and loudly proclaims to the media with them that as they have seen there are no prostitutes on walking street let alone any scantily clad ladies or bargirls. An hour after the media and the police an government have left it is back to normal.

 

Itis a country where mom in issaan is quite happy at the end of the month when her daughter sends her 5ooo baht which the money that she made as a waitress in a restaurant.

 

Thai culture is one thing but when you look at it it is the same as a lot of religions in that is has it's faults and they are starting to show.

 

 

A girl can get on a stage and stand moving from one foot to another and be called a dancer.  It is ok that she then goes to a table and massages the customer and goes with him for bar fine and 3k.

 

If this was a true bhuddist country there would not be scantily clad ladies working in bars for money.

 

There would not be Pretties that go to parties as eye candy and to get drunk.

 

Notice tha the country was up in arms about ilegal online gambling.  BUT a lot of people do it.  

 

Now even though they say it is bad and it hurts families what is the government doing legalizing it for the eliltes to make more money.

 

If online gambling is so bad and we know it is because of the addiction and money that is spent families ruined then what is so bad about a person that goes online in a private forum that does not allow underage and creates a living for the girl other than working at bars.

 

Would you rather have your daughter doing only fans or would you be happier if she worked in a bar?

I understand pretty well what you write here.

You describe Thai reality. And this is something to accept or leave Thailand.

I don't think our Western culture is something to copy nor I want to copy Thai culture.

When GIs came first time to Thailand to "relax", using poor young Thai girls for their sexual needs the whole country started to change. 

You can't turn the wheel back. But trying to educate or accusing or complaining doesn't make it better

While I agree that there may have been a few GI that gave teh story of yes I will be back and we can get married  rot.  I think that most of these young or old thai women saw a way to makle their lives better financially by looking after a GI for a week while he was here.  

 

It is no different here now with thetourists that come here.  A guy comes here he does not want the bar scene or a different bar girl every night  so he finds a lady either on a date site or by other means possibly a bar girls and they spend the week together.  She gets free meals, clothes and enteratinment along with sleeping in a nice bed in a nice hotel  and of course money to help mother that is ill.

 

Had a friend in the 90's that used to come to thailand for his 2 week holiday.  Once he knew his dates he emailed a lady her that drove moto taxi.  Told her the dates and she met him at the airport and spent the 2 weeks with him travelling around thailand.  At the end of the time he would give her 10k for her sick aunt and come back.  The only thing she had to show was recent medical check up that she was clean.   He was under no illusions that she had other friends like him

Yes, I agree so far. When I came my first time to Thailand, every Hotel got special brochures on top or under the counter showing girls offering holiday times as a hostess.

Nowadays students at universities offer their body for a new iPhone or scooter or something else.

hey the uni girl thing is ot just Thai there are girls in Canada that work in strip clubs or have sugar daddies that look after them.  It is just good business really.  They get the education the jewlery and the bling and walk out with not student debt.

If the authorities are truly committed to cracking down on such activities, they should start by shutting down major hubs like Nana, Patpong, Soi Cowboy, Chokchai 4, Walking Street, Bangla Road, and countless other similar areas nationwide, along with the myriad of massage venues that operate openly.
