British woman jailed after collecting debt from Thai millionaire
Needs a lot more detail. The person who owed the money could have said, “no” and that would be the end of it. -

Looking forward do U.S. expats face the risk of retaliation by nations burned by Trump?
Did you not read what I wrote? I'm not the expert. I don't pretend to be. Sure, Panama City looks like it is doing great. But how are the Panamanian people doing? That's what I don't know. I have no idea. Many of those big buildings in Panama are filled with expats from all over. The condos are not super expensive, but they're not cheap. Most are probably out of reach of the typical Panamanian. I looked into it one time. I may still end up there some day. It's easy to get a retirement visa there. Hire an agent, fill out some paperwork, show your income, and you're all set. They use the US Dollar. The infrastructure is good. It's probably an OK place. -

Foreign motorcyclist leaves 4,000 baht for injured Phuket man, then flees
OK - Bar Stool Banter, but I heard of a case recently where a farang was involved in an accident with a Thai. Thankfully no injuries, but there just happened to be a couple of motor bike cops passing at the time, and asked the farang to show his driving licence - which he did, but then asked the police to check the Thais driving licence. He was told "Thai not need driving licence"!!! -

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
Why do you keep having to repeat this ? I have already told you, I am awaiting updated tax Form. If it does not appear by the 28 Feb, I will go at the start of March, with all my paperwork, my trusty interuptor, and the Revenue Office can file for me, or tell me to go away. Either way, I couldn't care less.
