Cash is king

I clearly remember the days when businesses that handled large amounts of cash were forced at gunpoint to open their safes. Gas stations and 24 hour convenience stores were robbed multiple times a year. That doesn’t happen anymore due to the absence of cash.

Certainly crypto isn't. Zero security against physical robbery. If you brag about being a crypto bro, your advertising being a lucrative target.

Initial investigations by the police have suggested that the suspects might be individuals familiar with the victim or the condo, given its high-security measures.

That seemed to have failed?

Do you walk around wearing rags and pretending to be a peasant?  Or do you spend money on nice things but only enjoy them behind closed doors because you are afraid people will know you have money and nice things to steal?

What is the point of having money if you can't enjoy owning nice things and can't show those things off a bit.

How can one run off with cryptocurrency?

If the crypto is in a device such as a pendrive, in an accessible folder in the computer. There are some external devices such as the so called Trezor that encrypt and protect this data. The best is to have everything encrypted with a password that only exists in your mind.

How do people even get themselves into these situations in Thailand? LOL
I've been living here for 13 years, and the only slight issue I ever had was with a mentally ill taxi driver who tried to shortchange me

It's probably due to karma...

Thailand accelerates ones karma... 😉
