Looking for Cheaper Tadalafil & Other Generics + SSO Coverage Advice

I have just checked the Thai FDA website and there are now valid registrations for the production/supply of tadalafil in the names of the following Thai companies:

Pinnacle Chemmed

Sai Pharma

Top Tree & Co.

Linaria Chemicals (Thailand)

Vita, and

Macrophar

Now while these companies have licenses for manufacture, it does not mean that they do so. However, you would think that as the patent expired long ago on Cialis (tadalafil), generics would be readily available here and at a much lower price, but that is not the case. Also, there is the issue of the drug being prescription only. Still bit of a head scratcher as the price of sildenafil dropped considerably when the Thai Government Pharmaceutical Organization started to manufacture it here.

You just don't get it, there are counterfeit ED meds on the market here, even in some strategically located pharmacies. Just as you have fake women in Nana plaza.

This one was all over the place here, 9 or 10 years ago. https://www.tga.gov.au/news/safety-alerts/lilly-icos-cialis-20mg-tablets-lot-numbers-05668-and-ad47385-counterfeit. Bought a box in Pataya, wasn't impressed, a couple of month later bought another on Koh Chang, same <deleted>. Checked the boxes and then I saw that they had the lot number  (05668),  googled it and got many hits. These idiots just copied the box and didn't have any idea of what a lot number was. And no Tadalafil in those pills, just a weak dose of Sidenafil.

But, there are look at Pulse (Another reliable place) Cialis is still nearly double the price of Talafil.

As far as I know, there are currently only two regularly registered versions of Tadalafil available in Thailand:

Original Cialis: Around 4,500 THB for a box of 28 pills (5 mg).

Talafil: A generic version manufactured by the Thai company Millimed, priced at about 2,400 THB for a box of 30 pills (5 mg).

Of course, there are plenty of unregistered or unregulated versions available at much lower prices, but they come with potential risks.

Registered or not, is fairly irrelevant, as long as it works.

The statin I use to take worked just fine, and as you pointed out, not registered.

But also, not silly priced like the other statin mention, that is registered.

195 baht for a 30 day supply vs 888 for registered version (in OP) of exact same drug.

I respect that everyone makes choices based on their own situation.

For me, I want to thank everyone who shared helpful advice in this thread, especially @Sheryl who pointed me toward a much cheaper registered alternative for Rosuvastatin. I’ve already purchased my first batch of Rosetta at 360 THB per box compared to Vivacor’s 888 THB.

There may be even cheaper, non-registered options out there, but I feel fortunate to be in a position where I can prioritize quality and safety. Circumstances can always change, and I may adjust if needed, but for now, this is what works for me.

Regards
