what money is taxed 2024 ?
I believe I found and just watched the YT video on Carden's hour-long Thai tax presentation to the PCEC in January 2025. In his talk, he did briefly mention regular U.S. IRAs. But he made absolutely no mention whatsover of where Roth IRAs would stand under the recent Thai tax moves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XScNGwqXQm8 -

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
I did the math. As of January 2024, the average monthly Social Security retirement benefit is approximately $1,907. If you don't pay tax, you don't get a tax cut. Not my problem. However I'm more than willing to donate your social security check to charity. -

Thailand Sets Ambitious 3.5 Trillion Baht Tourism Goal for 2025
They will have to do this by letting in more cheap mass tourism. Hell on earth for any visitors though and any great experience. They will turn away high quality tourists. No sense of diversifying their economy like many economic think tanks have told Thailand. Any sort of war, trade war, dip in economy that hurts tourism is going to destroy the Thai economy due to an over reliance on cheap tourism. Ex Pm Sretta (who is still around it seems by the picture) decision to open up the borders to the word to anyone with a passport, to allow them to stay longer, be it criminals or very cheap tourists was a disgrace. Less is sometimes more. -

Friendly Thai Visa vs Bangkok Buddy vs "Tour And Travel"
I used Bangkok Buddy a few times in the past for a border run, to Cambodia and back. Everything worked well. I have never used the other firms so cannot comment on them. Bangkok Buddy also offer a service to get retirement visas where you lodge your passport with them, pay around 30,000 baht and a month or so later you get your passport back. Read reviews about Bangkok Buddy online and some people learned the hard way that this is a seriously bad idea.
