Americans seek escape for political reasons at record numbers
I suspect before the idiocy of MAGA ends, the real "escape" from the madness will not be measured by the number of individuals, but as States. California has absolutely no reason to remain as a US State. The world's 4th largest economy, Silicon Valley (where billionaires' affections blow with the direction of the wind), agriculture, defense industry, and a place ready to make its own trade deals far removed from TACO's tariffs is a stand alone power in this world. If CA seceded, Oregon and Washington would likely join. Such a move would prompt the same on the east coast, with all of New England, NY, NJ, DE, MD and eastern PA forming their own nation. Michigan could join Canada, and if Pritzker can do it, Illinois, too. MAGAnistas would have their unwoke paradise monarchy, albeit with an economy that would make Venezuela look like an economic juggernaut. MAGANistas could learn to clap like trained seals, a la the people of North Korea. They could install a White Jeebus kind of KKKristianity as the official faith, with Trump acting as their Pope as well as dictator and monarch. KFC and McDonalds could be put at the top of the food pyramid, and ketchup could be reclassified as a sacrament. Since Georgia would remain part of MAGAstan, Trump could award himself the Green Jacket for "winning" The Masters, and his caddy could toss out the ceremonial First Cheat to start off the tournament each year. What would be left in terms of supporters would be pretty much all Trump has left now: fat old "angry" unsuccessful white guys getting measured for the box, who could depart the earthly plain any day now, and young Incels who think Taylor Swift ruined their chances to ever find a willing female partner. One wonders if that Best Paradise Ever would draw back home the MAGAs now counting their ever-shrinking cookie jar of baht in Thailand with their former bargirl cashier pyrite-digger. -
