I was ordering a coffee and complained that I got a Macchiato instead of an Espresso .

I asked for an Espresso and got a Macchiato

Immediately thought that I would run home and tell ASEANNOW about it. I will go back now and drink the coffee

And then?

Obviously, people can make mistakes. And they can make up for those mistakes.

For me it would be:

A) They give me an espresso.

B) They don't give me an espresso, I don't pay and never come back.

Problems solved.

Part of the problem is that many Thai's just don't understand coffee - its not something they normally drink at home. Regularly evidenced by them giving you sachet's of creamer with a Cappuccino 😁.

You're mad....it'll be either cold or have been cleared away by now.

But then, who drinks Macchiato?

You should have asked them politely to change.

Which is the reason they go to coffee shops.

Whenever I order a coffee, the first question I get asked is hot or cold?

Yes but coffee shops don't exactly pay salaries that would be attractive to educated Thai's. A coffee can cost half of their daily wage.

Or possibly a MAGA supporter.

All this barista stuff is rubbish. They put some ground coffee into a little holder, clip it into a machine and press a button. Done.

And are you suggesting a Thai earns Bht 2x 40-50 which is what I paid in Amazon.

OMG.....I've always felt like the little boy in 'The Emperor's New Clothes' on this matter of baristas!!!

Latte in the centre of CM (Hom Coffee) costs 30bht frequented by foreigners.

Latte on a small stall behind Montfort school 50bht frequented by Thai teens.

Pricing is so random ......................

Really.... you can't even get a coffee order right ????

1) If you don't like it go home

2) learn Thai

3) its your own fault for not making your own coffee

4) life must be boring if you have to start a thread about this

5) Go to a different coffee shop

6) why are you always starting problems

7) you may have been dressed poorly

8) your accent was too strong

Touché.....

+1 from me for the good pish-take......

They probably realized you order the same crap all the time, and they wanted to help you broaden your coffee drinking horizons

Of course.....he would need some fluids in order to swallow the Viagra he bought.

They might not be into coffee like westerners are, but they do drink it at home, as I've noticed since living here. Most of what they drink seems to be the 3 in 1 variety, instead of making it fresh. Seems like most of the coffee they drink outside is sweetened, overly, and flavored. Tea is actually favored more, as this link I found says, at least for now..............https://cornercoffeestore.com/coffee-consumption-statistics-in-thailand/

Perhaps this was before Nick went to the Pharmacy, he'd had a few too many Espresso's leading to the caffeine rush, which is why he got impatient and aggressive with some poor guy in the Pharmacy trying to communicate his order...  :whistling:

I think most other posters don't realise this thread is a 'dummy spit throwing the toys out of the pram' response to the ridicule Nick was receiving in another thread he'd taken way too seriously....

Definitely the 3 in 1......at least where we live it's what the Thais drink......it is awful.....but now I can't stop drinking it and what's worse I have never been a coffee drinker........3 in 1 must be 98% sugar, 1% creamer and 1% coffee (flavouring?).
