There are some interesting points mentioned in this interview of Mike Benz. Curious to know what democrats have to say and their response to this aside from attempts to trash Musk with desperate meaningless nonsense.

As usual, no evidence, except propaganda tweets from... Carlson!  😆

As I read, they probably weren't even aware they had paid subscriptions, much less what they cost.  The subscriptions were pre-installed on their gub'ment mandated computers when they walked in the door.  That's genius.  Evil, but genius.

Now DOGE needs to find out whether any gub'ment employees got kickbacks for installing them.

More made up assertions...

Sen. Warren (Dem-MA) is well-known for her 'Cherokee Recipes' chapter of the award-winning book 'Pow Wow Chow'.  She's also gained noteriety for being an 'early adapter' of identity politics. Designed to aid the oppressed and offer opportunities to those from ethnic groups which suffered past injustices, Warren skillfully gamed the system to her advantage. But enough of that.

Seems that Warren at one time was quite outspoken in support of investigating the secretive nature of where U.S. taxpayers' dollars are going and how they are spent.

So what changed?

"Senator, can you explain that?"

Dems say only Congress can shut it down. Go ahead, Dems - defend it and drown under the river of derision heading your way.

You're right.

Why to give some bread crumbs from your plate to the poorest?

Let them starve or die.

Then nobody would cross the border illegally.

Is this the Rep's morality??

Disgusting and humiliating.😵‍💫

As has been repeatedly shown, the so-called secrets that have been revealed are mostly falsehoods.

USAID - there are six named D.O.G.E. geniuses pouring through this department line by line. Aged 19 to 24, Dems are calling them little boys.

Translation - they are cr*pping themselves as these young men are ripping USAID apart. $20,000 to fund a LGBT comic book in Peru among many other ridiculous grants.

But here's the real problem - Dems are saying USAID is only 1% of the Federal budget. True.

But D.O.G.E has only had access for days, and Trump was inaugurated 2 weeks ago. Give it 18 months and we'll see how much waste and abuse is going around the Fed budgets.

The problem for Dems is that they are downplaying these "small amounts" of money. By the midterms the GOP will be able to demonstrate at least half a trillion of savings.

So what will the Dems say then? "Oh, it's only half a trillion?" But here's where the party will really start.

Wait till D.O.G.E get their hands on the Medicaid and Medicaire contracts. They're going to uncover wild overcharging to the US government and consumers.

Good luck trying to win the midterms if Trump crashes the cost of medication. I predict a midterm landslide.

Wait, what? You mean there was overfilling of the taxpayer by the private, for-profit companies? Sounds like more support for a national not-for-profit healthcare system. Maybe that is the "concept" Trump was referring to in questions about his healthcare plan?

This is coming from the clown who promised 2 trillion in savings.

3 weeks into it and you are complaining he has not found 2 trillion in waste yet haha.... pretty ridiculous to expect them to complete all that in less than a month. You are only adding to to the hatred of Trump and making yourself look bad in the process.

I would love to see if you and 5 geniuses could go through the expenditures of thousand of programs in less than a month. Not to mention this is only from 1 NGO. Imagine all the others as well. It this is the starting point. They may be able to save more than double what Musk claimed would be possible.

Exactly right.  This mismanagement has been going on for years and even the best and brightest will take a while to unravel this convoluted mess.

Typical attempted smears from MAGA world which we will see a great deal more in the trump coordinated efforts to destroy US government institutions. . Following is Power's response which has to be quoted in full as behind a paywall....

We are witnessing one of the worst and most costly foreign policy blunders in U.S. history. Less than three weeks into Donald Trump’s second term, he, Elon Musk and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have halted the U.S. Agency for International Development’s aid programs around the world. In so doing, they have imperiled millions of lives, thousands of American jobs and billions of dollars of investment in American small businesses and farms while severely undermining our national security and global influence — all while authoritarians and extremists celebrate their luck.

I am shocked by the gleeful assault perpetrated by our own government against U.S.A.I.D.’s programs and the public servants who work on them. But after running the agency for four years, I am not surprised that the attacks are being cheered by Moscow and Beijing. They understand what those seeking to dismantle the agency are desperate to hide from the American people: U.S.A.I.D. has become America’s superpower in a world defined by threats that cross borders and amid growing strategic competition.

The assistance provided by U.S.A.I.D. comes in many forms, and with a budget of less than 1 percent of the U.S. government’s overall annual spending, it, alone, is no panacea for the world’s major challenges. Like all government agencies, it could be more efficient, and making it so was an effort I spearheaded during my tenure. Yet for much of the world population, the investments and work of U.S.A.I.D. make up the primary (and often only) contact with the United States.

Speaking of making one self look bad in the process. You might want to look closer to home. Musk claimed that he could save at least 2 trillion from a 6.5 trillion dollar budget. He started backtracking soon after. The fact is that an ignoramus was appointed to examine government programs. And much of the information that was released that's supposedly exposed corruption or hidden spending has turned out to be false.

He is destroying government corruption not destroying government institutions. I love it how suddenly the msm narrative is industrial scale corruption is good because it was benefitting leftist causes.

Anyone that is triggered by transparency and accountability under the orange Mandela's regime is frankly on the wrong side of the issue, end of.

Yeah, I am sure offering millions to terrorist organizations are the only way to get them to talk.

The same goes for paying 10s of thousands to have an LGBT show put on by another country. I can really see your point how the USAID is spearheading using this as the means to communicate with other entities. Ohh let's not forget about the millions sent to Hamas and the weapons the USAID sent.

This USAId seems to do more to make or continue conflict than it does to help people.

I guess you also think their donations to the WUHAN labs that most likely created Covid truly helped the world or the USA.

Musk is on track to cut $500 billion in his first year. Multiply by four years and he will save $2 trillion.

The amazing thing is that anyone is objecting to the government being audited.

Oh, and for the demented Dems growling about eggs still being expensive, the next election is November 26. Don't get ahead of yourselves.

Exactly what transparency and accountability is being provided by Musk & co? Terminating contracts, staff, contractors etc and implementing automated software tools does not come at zero cost, in fact probably costs billions. Project goals for cost saving often take a number of years to prove / disprove. Credible link/s are required to back up your claims

i really do not think these complaints are about being audited and trimmed. Most of the complainers are the Dems. But I think the reason for their complaints is not because of what is being done. It is because WHO is doing it. Clearly the Dems know about the spending and had approved monies for some things the taxpayers money was being used for .

https://www.wsj.com/opinion/the-left-didnt-always-love-usaid-us-agency-for-international-development-c7888341

If the Dems had begun auditing this NGO and demanding to see where the money goes and they were refused access to it. I am most certain the Dems would have shut the funding down and done exactly the same as Trump by looking at everything they used the money for.

But this is the chance the Dems to attack Trump. They will find everything possible to use to attack what Trump is trying to do simply because it is Trump.

The rhetoric about Musk not being a GOV official is a prime example. He is not doing anything without Trumps orders. And what he is doing is checking what non-gov officials have been doing with the money.

I do not think the courts can stop Trump. I also noticed it has been over a week since Trump begun this against USAID yet, there is not a single poll telling if the taxpayers agree with Trumps actions or if they are against it and think he is wrong to do it.

What I do know is that the USAID biggest cut of the money given them was to supply enemies or to do subversive actions with countries that the GOV did not want the people to know about. They did it to hide things they knew were wrong and not justified.

This one action of Trump is going to set a precedence for other NGOs. Personally, I hope Trumps team can root out all the bad stuff and. begin the program anew actually helping people around the world. If my tax dollars are going to be spent in other countries it should be for the good of all people and not just the good of the President or Democratic party to negotiate.
