Popular Post CharlieH Posted Monday at 04:33 AM Popular Post Posted Monday at 04:33 AM A British duo is potentially facing decades of imprisonment in Bali after being accused of smuggling cocaine disguised as the dessert mix Angel Delight. Lisa Stocker, aged 39 from Gillingham, Kent, and Jon Collyer, 37, were apprehended on February 1 at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. They were reportedly carrying cocaine concealed in dessert packaging. Their suspicious luggage was flagged at the airport's X-ray checkpoint. Upon further inspection, authorities discovered narcotics in blue packages labeled 'Angel Delight' within Collyer's bags. Stocker's suitcase also contained additional cocaine stored in seven plastic packets. In total, 994.56 grams of cocaine were confiscated, valued at approximately six billion Indonesian rupiahs, or around £296,000. Concerned friends had raised online alerts about the couple’s disappearance, unaware of their arrest and detention by police. A third British national, named Phineas Float, 31, was subsequently arrested in connection with the case. Local media suggested he was supposed to meet Stocker and Collyer to collect the drugs. During a press event on Friday, the trio, alongside other drug suspects, were presented to the local media. While Stocker and Collyer appeared grave, Float was spotted laughing. According to AKBP Ponco Indriyo, Deputy Director of Drug Investigation for Bali Police, the cocaine, totaling 994.56 grams, was transported via Doha International Airport in Qatar en route to Indonesia. The drugs were hidden within food packaging in their luggage, intended for distribution on Bali island; however, customs and police successfully intercepted them. The police official noted that one of the suspects had connections to two additional drug trafficking cases but withheld more specifics due to ongoing investigations. Reports indicate that the British nationals could face up to 20 years in prison under Indonesia’s Narcotics Law Number 35 of 2009. They were part of a broader crackdown, 'Operation Antik Agung-2025,' which resulted in 149 drug-related arrests over 16 days. Authorities managed to seize a range of drugs worth 9.5 billion IDR during the operation. These included 1.5 kg of methamphetamine, 5.4 kg of marijuana, 540 ecstasy tablets, along with the cocaine carried by Stocker and Collyer. Indonesia is known for its stringent drug regulations, where traffickers can face severe penalties, including life imprisonment or even the death penalty for significant quantities. One high-profile British prisoner is Lindsay Sandiford, aged 67, who has been on death row in Bali for over ten years. Convicted for attempting to smuggle £1.6 million worth of cocaine into Indonesia back in 2013, Sandiford is known within the Kerobokan Prison as the 'Queen,' enjoying privileges such as premium meals and leading knitting groups for her fellow inmates. The Old Bull Posted Tuesday at 12:38 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:38 AM Where do they get these figures, a kilo of coke can be had for $35,000 in Canada? I don't know what is goes for in the UK but they look like they were tempted by the huge markup. Even so it is not a good business to be in, first you loose your dope second you do twenty years in jail.

impulse Posted Tuesday at 04:20 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:20 AM I wonder how many drug sniffing dogs it would take to cover the entire Bali airport luggage system? Not many, I'd bet. 'Couple of pounds of kibble a day, a rubber ball to chase as a reward, and they're probably better than any x-ray machine. What a dumb move...

I can believe that there were dogs working discretely in the back rooms. But I cannot believe that an x-ray machine was able to distinguish between cake mix and cocaine in a box packed in luggage. I carry spices, soup mix, pancake mix and cake mix through airports all the time. So many people do, that they'd have to be really lucky to find the cocaine in all that background. 1

Sir Dude Posted Tuesday at 08:50 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:50 AM Only dumb-ass entitled moron people try this drug trafficing nonsense in such places... Bali isn't the far-lefty UK or other such place administered by deluded muppets. Most sensible countries consider class A drugs and theft/looting etc. as serious offences, and rightly so, as they undermine some of the fundamental rights to society (like the right to property and the protection of it, or public safety) that holds society together and enables organised crime. Once you no longer enforce these laws and let it go feral, then dystopian chaos ensues and society becomes ill. Why? Well, there is no point in doing anything normal or behaving in an accepted way if some oxygen thief can just rock up and take what they want with no consequences or just deal illegal substances openly... no point in working, respecting the law, having a family, saving for the future, paying taxes etc. etc. if the authorities won't protect you, the community, and your efforts. Everywhere that forgets this descends in a mess and the cure is often unpalatible, even if the results are stunning... for example, El Salvador, from the most dangerous country in the world to the safest in a matter of 6 months, because they let the rot go too far, and many places doing the same... but not places like Indonesia. You have to remember that places like Indonesia are Muslim countries and they take a very dim view of such things... even if their males constantly cross the border with places like Thailand to party and go to bars with women etc. because they can't do it at home. 1

At the moment it doesn't know it's ar5e from it's elbow - and it can't decide how many genders there should be - it certainly isn't far left. The Labour party kicked out it's best 'lefty'. 1
