Here is a list of some of the changes President Trump is making since resuming office in January 2025. many are controversial policies and executive orders:

Here's a summary of notable actions:

  1. Withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO): On January 20, 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order 14155, directing the United States to withdraw from the WHO, citing dissatisfaction with the organization's handling of global health issues.

  2. Ending Birthright Citizenship: Through Executive Order 14160, titled "Protecting the Meaning and Value of American Citizenship," President Trump sought to end birthright citizenship for children born in the U.S. to unauthorized immigrants and those on temporary visas. This order has faced multiple legal challenges and has been blocked by federal judges.

  3. Reinstatement of Transgender Military Ban: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reinstated a ban on new transgender service members, reversing policies from the previous administration that allowed for inclusive service.

  4. Elimination of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Programs: Executive Order 14173 prohibits private organizations from implementing DEIA programs in employment practices related to federal contracts, aiming to restore merit-based opportunities.

  5. Immigration Enforcement Intensification: The administration has authorized extensive deportation raids targeting undocumented immigrants, leading to family separations and public outcry.

  6. Cabinet Appointments: President Trump's second-term Cabinet nominations have sparked controversy, with figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Pete Hegseth, and Tulsi Gabbard facing significant opposition during confirmation hearings.

  7. International Relations Efforts: President Trump has engaged in discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin, claiming progress toward ending the Ukraine-Russia conflict. Details of these talks remain limited, and concerns have been raised about potential concessions.

  8. Withdrawal from the Paris Agreement: On January 20, 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order 14162, directing the immediate withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Agreement and other international climate commitments.

  9. Recognition of Two Genders: President Trump announced that the U.S. government will officially recognize only two genders, male and female, and plans to issue executive actions to end federal mandates related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

  10. Creation of the Department of Government Efficiency: The administration has initiated a reorganization of the federal government, including the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, aiming to streamline operations and reduce bureaucracy.

These actions have elicited strong reactions from various sectors, reflecting deep divisions in public opinion regarding the administration's policy directions, which ones do you agree or disagree with?

Apparently paper straws explode.

ENDING THE FORCED USE OF PAPER STRAWS: Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order to end the procurement and forced use of paper straws.

  • The Federal government is directed to stop purchasing paper straws and ensure they are no longer provided within Federal buildings.
  • The Order requires the development of a National Strategy to End the Use of Paper Straws within 45 days to alleviate the forced use of paper straws nationwide.

I hate paper straws.

We used to use paper straws in the 1950s.

Never liked them.

Paper cups!

We need to ban paper cups, too.

The worst paper cups are the ones you see by a drinking fountain.

The triangular ones.

They collapse and then the water soaks shirts and pants (trousers).

These triangular paper cups should be banned FIRST.

Absolutely & the US government is no place for social engineering, especially in the military except for warfare.
