Tourist Brawl in Phuket Sparks Debate on Visitor Behavior - video

Been all over Thailand on me bike and when ever down south I have for some reason always avoided Phuket Krabi no doubt a beautiful place but just the types it attracts put me off. Now Thailand  is a funny place and I have been out at all times of the night in many towns but one thing that should be remembered. Respect, Thailand is dangerous at night after sun set. Certainly to a Westener brought up in a nanny state. One has to be vigilant at all times same as driving in Thailand you have to drive defensively they are all potential accidents wanting to hit you. 🙏

Absolute scum. Money can't buy you any decent manners.

Btw, I've always thought the security has guns. One shot in the air probably let them scatter like headless chickens...

One of the reasons why I stay away from Phuket

Very little, if anything, to do with 'free' visas, unless you make visas so expensive that only his holiness, the supreme jerk Elongus Maximus Mask and Co can visit, like 20 mil for a one day visa.

If you can afford a week in the overpriced pearl, you can afford to pay for a visa, and then do the fighting with a visa.

A fighter without visa and a fighter with a visa, same fists, same punches, same brainless skulls.

IQ tests before you are aloud in might help.

By the way, the locals fight, and stab  and shoot, a lot more than visitors.

In an absolutely desperate bid to attract high tourist numbers Thailand has forgotten that this formula of quantity over quality only works if you're a low end vendor at a swap meet, or a Pad Thai street stand.

They are now attracting some pretty low end tourists, and those kind of guys cause problems.

I go to Kamala to get away from the bell-ends in Patong.WTF.

Kamala is popular now.  Go further north for bell end free zone.

It is a wonder TAT hasn’t promoted all these street  fights and bar brawls  as a tourist attraction.  Some enterprising local Thai could provide seating,  drinks and eats for people to watch  the mayhem.

Thailand has never been further from attracting quality tourists than it is now.

A street brawl involving foreign tourists outside Cafe del Mar in Kamala, Phuket, has gone viral on social media, sparking discussions about the type of tourists visiting the island.

The 1-minute, 37-second video, shared by the "โหดจัง จังหวัดภูเก็ต" Facebook page on February 14, shows a chaotic scene with intoxicated tourists exchanging blows while shocked bystanders look on. The fight, which began outside the popular nightlife venue, quickly escalated into a violent street brawl.

In the video, one man attempts to break a bottle over another's head, and others are seen throwing punches and kicks. A particularly alarming moment captures a man repeatedly kicked while on the ground, despite attempts by bystanders, including two women, to intervene.

The video's caption, expressing frustration over the incident, states, “It’s famous again. Free visa, quality tourists – drunk and fighting in Kamala, Phuket, causing trouble and damaging the island’s image again.” This highlights growing concerns about Phuket's tourism environment.

Social media users voiced mixed reactions. Many blamed lenient visa policies for the influx of disruptive visitors. Comments included, “Phuket is a beautiful place, but incidents like this ruin its reputation,” and calls for immediate deportation with suggestions to report the culprits to their embassies.

Others argued that unruly tourist behavior isn't unique to Phuket and shouldn't solely be attributed to visa regulations.

Local police are currently examining the footage and have promised to take legal action against those involved. Further details have yet to be released by authorities, reported The Thaiger.

Looks like arabic types and Russians, too much money, very little brain cells. Not a good combination mixing these types and alcohol..  not one decent punch thrown , a proper fighter would have mown right through that lot with ease. Proper security could have stopped it but most security guards in phuket just looking for an excuse to hit someone.

So much disrespect to this country when holidaying here. All that money spent on flights, hotels, beer and food, just for a handbag swinging scrap, mature men with a child’s brain.

Shoulder bags not hand bags. Hard to travel without one. The army style look the best. Some do look a bit gay though.

Your own fault, Thailand! Completely misguided visa policy. Quantity seems to be more important than quality here. Only lets more scum into the country. That and the new tax regulations are making many expats in Thailand think about leaving Thailand!!:coffee1:

My root cause analysis to this problem is that there is a lack of women in Phuket now.  Back in the day, there were sooo many treats to go around, that men did not have time to fight.

Today, we have a lot of young, inexperience <deleted>, with Man Purses flaying at each other due to sexual frustration.

I agree it's probably the lack of women. I was in Chaweng in January and all the bars / clubs were full of groups of men in their 20s. A sea of man bags, beards and tatts.

I thought I was having a bad dream.

These boys have no clue on how to behave in Thailand.

Here is a hint, do not bring this behavior to Patts.  They do not eff around here.  You will be checked and reminded on how to behave.

My root is keeping the motor running whilst working in a bar until I get back to Thailand.

They should be locked up for wearing those ridiculous man-bags.

They should be deported for the violence.

Thailand - The Benidorm of Asia.

Maybe locked up for the man purse is a bit harsh but I do think that and any guy with a manbun needs to turn in their man card. 🙄
