Thai Bar Girl Seeks Justice After Alleged Rape Ignored

In a troubling case from Bangkok, a 26-year-old woman known as Ple claims her employer, Suea, raped her and attempted to dodge justice by offering 600 baht. Despite her efforts, police have reportedly been dismissive, permitting the accused to roam free since the incident in November last year.

 

Feeling desperate, Ple turned to social media influencer Thamanat “King” Daengtim for help. Together, they approached the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) to push her stalled case forward, initially filed at Chokchai Police Station.

 

Ple, who had worked at a bar in Lat Phrao for just three days, recounted a chilling night on November 18. According to her, Suea, a 28-year-old bar partner, along with two friends, coerced her into drinking with them. Suspecting she was drugged, Ple later woke in unfamiliar clothes, bruised and in pain, with no recollection of the night's events.

 

 

When confronted, Suea reportedly admitted the assault and tried to bribe Ple with a mere 600 baht before disappearing. His alleged admission and subsequent disappearance prompted Ple to file a police report, though authorities claimed her story lacked clarity.

 

Channel 8 reports that tests did not confirm Suea's involvement through physical evidence, which Ple disputes. She calls on Suea to address the allegations publicly. Meanwhile, Ple continues her pursuit of justice, undeterred by the obstacles she faces, reported The Thaiger.

I guess she was asking for more than 600 and not satisfied with the amount offered. Without proof it was rape and a testimony from the man she is grasping at straws to act. Her comment the man confirmed raping her means nothing. simply because no proof...

Speculating.  How do you know she is really a victim?

With proper interviewing by the police, the suspect’s admission plus statements from the others involved/witnessing the incident would  be enough for a conviction. 
 

Good luck finding competent detectives who could do that though.

not sure how easy or difficult rape is to prove or how often women make false claims.

She is 26, works in a bar, and drinks with the guys. What exactly did she expect?

Most fathers tell their daughter not to do such things. For a reason.

It is always difficult in such a situation, suppose she was to be paid 1,000 Bath and afterwards it turns out that the money was fake, is there also talk of rape?

Yeah, every girl who drinks with a guy should expect to get raped or sexually assaulted (if indeed that's what happened).  I don't understand this thinking, but I get your point about what a father would say.  I've managed to drink with quite a few women over the years, and no non-consensual activities have ever happened.

I am sure that most guys don't rape women when they drink with them.

But unfortunately, some guys do that. As far as I know the chance of getting raped for a woman goes higher and higher the more alcohol she drinks and her companions drink. That is not exactly rocket science.

If you would have a daughter (maybe you have one) would you tell her it's a good idea to work in a bad and drink with the guys?

I already said I get your point.  She already knows how to look after herself and judge a situation, and is aware of the possibility of drink spiking.  And she's a pretty decent MMA fighter, so good luck to anyone who tries something unwanted.  Before, during or after the fact.  Someone tried to rob her a couple of years ago in the USA, she put him in a choke hold till the cops arrived.

Where did you read that I blame her for her parents.

I bet her father or other people in her life told her not to do certain risky things. She obviously didn't listen.
