engaged a minor he met via a dating app

someone also needs to do something about stopping minors getting onto dating apps.

Lock him up and lockup the app owners for not blocking minors.  Maybe they should implement provide ID or something on the app ....

An under 15 on a dating ap???  I don't want to shift any blame from this fellow, but where were her parents?

You don’t think it’s possible to be on an app without parents knowing. I’d be too easy!  Don’t jump to conclusions and blame parents! Lay blame with the adult perpetrators !

I will not defend these guys, if guilty, but there is a a more glaring omission, who supplied the girls, and why we see no attempt to find them, I am not following this disgusting scene, but I assume, without local help, it would be hard to find the girls.

Who’s saying there’s no attempt to find them?

How can't you blame  the mother or whoever organised the children as they are probaby dirt poor and /or heavily in debt  and were offered good money to do the deal. It goes on everywhere I saw it in the Philipines and years ago I met a girl in a bar  Phnom Penh who was 19 and she told me that she was sold to a Yank for $1000 U.S. when she was 11. He took her to the states and she eventually escaped to a shelter and was sent back home at 16. She ended up in the bar and that experience ruined her life for sure. Same old storey her mother was in debt and the loan sharks were gonna kill her if she did't pay up.so she took the money . It's sad but true. She had no further contact with her mother after that.

Perhaps it is no wonder that the British Embassy in Thailand doesn't help their citizens when they have problems. Some are the worst of the worst!

Not if you compare it to all the sexual exploitation of kids by Pakistanis in the UK.

Unfortunately, we often encounter parents who do not want to work and force their children to earn money through prostitution.

Like everyone else, we know only what is in this story, if you know more, then tell us.

What we do know, from previous I stances, is the RTP do not follow the trail.. in fact rely on overseas law enforcement to give them the information, names etc

Oxygen removal for both of these scum-bags will sort out the problem.

Why would you offer them the easy way out? Let them rot in a Thai jail. I'm sure the local prison population will give them a warm welcome.

Hows about moving away from mass tourism and become self sufficient/reliant - thus keeping these pedo sex pests, like the two in question, out...

Just an early morning thought.

Regards,

Bob.

Mass tourism is ok in and of itself. The issue is the readily available sex activities in Thailand which result in the mass tourism consisting of sexpats, rather than family groups.

Eliminate what attracts these people and they won’t come!

My question is exactly the same... I've seen 16 year-old boys in gay apps, of course, stating they were 18, because you cannot get registered there if you're younger... A bit not right, is it?

In a concerted effort by Thai immigration authorities to tackle serious crimes involving foreigners, two individuals from abroad have been arrested, facing grave accusations of sexual offences against minors. These arrests form part of an intensified crackdown against criminal activities impacting Thailand's reputation as a safe travel destination.

The first case involves a 68-year-old German national, Mr. Rudolf, apprehended under a court warrant issued in Pattaya. He is charged with "indecent acts against a child under 13" after allegedly exploiting a young girl from Surat Thani. Authorities report that Rudolf, alongside a Thai accomplice, manipulated the girl's family into allowing her to be his foster child, promising her an education in Chonburi.

Upon investigation, police discovered Rudolf's residence contained explicit materials, including photographs and videos of the girl. Initially granted bail, Rudolf absconded and failed to attend subsequent court hearings.

After a dedicated manhunt, law enforcement officers finally captured him in an apartment in Bang Lamung, Chonburi, highlighting the extensive cross-agency efforts in place to bring fugitive offenders to justice.

The second arrest pertains to 41-year-old British national, Mr. Oliver, who faces charges from a Chonburi court for "abducting a child under 15 for immoral purposes." Allegations suggest that Oliver engaged a minor he met via a dating app, which underscores growing concerns over the misuse of digital platforms for criminal exploits.

After the alleged crime, Oliver fled Thailand, evading justice for months. However, upon his re-entry into the country, officials swiftly acted on information from their technological surveillance systems, leading to his identification and subsequent arrest at a hotel in Bang Lamung.

This case not only spotlights the vulnerabilities associated with online interactions but also Thai authorities' capability to leverage technology in tracking offenders.

In addressing these incidents, Major General Chairit Anurith, head of Immigration Division 3, underscored the deep impact such crimes have on victims and Thailand’s international standing. He noted that, with Thailand heavily reliant on tourism, maintaining a positive global image is paramount. The arrests signal a clear message: illegal activities, especially those causing severe harm like child exploitation, will be met with the full force of the law.

Chairit further highlighted that these cases have prompted a reaffirmation of vigilance in policing strategies and a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals. The authorities are now emphasising community awareness and caution, particularly regarding interactions on social media and dating apps, to prevent similar occurrences.

In light of the high-profile arrests, Thai authorities have urged residents and visitors alike to report suspicious activities, ensuring that the country's commitment to safety remains robust. These actions are part of a broader initiative to not only tackle present challenges but also to establish preventative measures against the backdrop of increasing digital interactions.

Ultimately, these arrests represent a broader effort by Thailand to ensure that its streets – and its virtual spaces – uphold a standard of safety and security for everyone, reinforcing the country’s image as a welcoming and secure destination, reported Siam Rath.

A lot of Social Media  Dating platforms are infested with underaged girls and boys offering explicit photo(s) and video(s) and some of them even offering life movies.
Thailand is no exception.
It is the task of these platforms owners to veryify that their users are complying with the age laws.

Firing squad for all guilty parties, Ceaușescu-style.

Ceaușescu-style means opening fire on full auto while your colleague is still positioning them against the wall and thus shooting your colleague in the arm.  Lucky he wasn't executed.  But some in the firing squad felt remorseful and committed suicide.

Indonesia executes  by firing squad but not very efficiently according to a foreign priest who was permitted to minister to some foreign condemned men a few years ago. He said a Nigerian prisoner was groaning in pain after the volley and needed a coup de grace in the head from the firing squad commander.  It stands to reason that is quite common with firing squads using single shots.  The shooters don't want to be there and are going to be shaky and are standing up and firing fire hand using iron sights from maybe 20 metres, Most soldiers are not good shots and many people could miss a heart sized target even under normal circumstances.  Some soldiers may deliberately aim wide to let their colleagues be the killers.

The Ceascescus looked like they were dead before they hit the ground in the video. I think it is the botched Indonesian style that you want for these pedos.

He came BACK?!? Dumbest criminal in the world!

Maybe he thought the coast is clear. Maybe he has a low appreciation of Thai intelligence and computer software. Maybe Thailand is a bountiful harvest for him whereas other countries are not. Criminals had a habit of coming back full circle to  the place where his crimes were committed.

What a shocking thing to say

These people need help & counselling as well as punishment but to go to extremes in punishment is deplorable.

Maybe he didn't know he was a wanted man.  Maybe he just thought he had had a pleasant date with a young, not underage, girl.  Maybe he came back for more.  Maybe this story will be updated, but I very much doubt it.

And, where were the controls within the dating app operator's system to ensure that underage minors were not making use of those services?

I asked my Thai wife, and these days, she says Thai children can get their national ID card as early as age 7....

In my humble opinion, once they are found guilty in a court of law then they should forefit their lives and make a chice:

A) If they want to have a painless death then, they should agree to their orans harvested, a least that may atone in some sma way for their disgusting life choices!

B) If they refuse to donate their organs then skin them and bury them alive in a salt pit to bleed out!

Now I agree that may sound a little over the top, but that's just my humble opinion...
