Anyone else noticed how slowly but surely the interesting, worthwhile posters have left and have been replaced with pulp fiction?

 

Do you come here out of habit more than anything else? How much worse would it have to get before you'd leave too?

I agree with your observations. All the troll and aI posters are driving people into posting less. It is not surprising that the value and traffic of the site has declined since its hey day.

 

Another thing that is really driving traffic away is all the threads about the doings of Donald Chump.  Why they cannot be collated into one thread I don't know. Any new person coming accross the site for the first time probably thinks it is a site about American politics. 

 

However , I would continue coming here just for the visa and legal threads. They really are useful and all that keeps people coming.

even a troll thread might generate some responses which may be of use to some people as people share their experiences.

 

the forum is loud with trump threads. on youtube, a bunch of annoying videos will pop into your feed.

such is the nature of social media. it cannot be catered to your specific needs.

That reminds me how much time I waste on this forum. 

 

What I find most annoying are the stupid and ignorant people. We can all have different opinions about a lot of things. But it seems more and more people here just don't accept facts. How can you argue with anybody who does not accept facts?

 

I think for the future I should only participate in DIY questions or something like that. Let's see.

I can often tell who, from about six people, have started a thread just by the title. I can then quickly decide not to bother viewing it.

 

Still some geat posters on here with very informative posts but the numbers do seem to be dwindling. Still some very amusing posters aswell.

 

I think it's a combination of habit and boredom why I keep returning. I do think the American politics threads are way too numerous. Even a thread about the price of toasties at 7/11 seems to turn into a Trumpfest.

I do think the 'popular contributors ' should be changed to 'frequent contributors'. There is a HUGE difference between the two.

 

That is not having a dig at you I hasten to add. If you look at one poster at the top or near the top, no way could he/she/it be described as popular.

Interesting, yes history in the making. I really enjoy watching the left wing zealots come apart at the seams, it makes my day. Can't wait for the next melt down post.

I agree. It may also be that some of the more established members of old look at the forum but dont actually log in. Perhaps fed up with the abuse or being unintentionally sucked into arguments.

I am unfamiliar with how websites and getting traffic works, but this site would be pretty much dead without Trump, same goes for quite a lot of media outlets. But the mods are responsible for 60% of Trump threads, another 30% to anti Trumper collective, (of which a few are not even American) Leaving 10% of posts made by actual trump supporters.

But as I said this site would be boring and pretty much dead with out El Trump and King Vladimir

I only occasionally post in this forum.  I have more interesting things to do during the day not like many posters here who spend their retirement days on a public discussion board. A wasted life.

Many years ago I posted that the business model of this website was wrong!  It would be a much better forum if it charged a monthly subscription fee, say $10.  I'd pay if that fee kept out the idiots...

Your not a customer on here the advertisers are ,and as you don't use their business ....well ..call in sick for a few weeks and come back with a doctor's note .

PS;  The reason I did not/do not see it is because I have my screen magnification is set so that the main left hand column fills all my screen and the Topics, popular etc are down the bottom where I never look!

3 people would pay that. Travelfish charges and their forum went dead and its $50 a year. No way many would pay $120 to read drivel.

I steal tv shows too. Reacher just came out today first 3 episodes. Watching ep1 now.
