In a startling discovery, local residents in Pai, Mae Hong Son, stumbled upon the body of a Swedish tourist missing since 21 February.

 

Wandering through a forest near his resort, they found him dead at the base of a cliff, leading to suspicions he may have accidentally fallen while under the influence of alcohol.

On 25 February, the police in Pai were informed by locals who were foraging in the Huai Nam Soam forest. The deceased was identified as Mr Karlsson, a regular drinker, last seen at the resort he was staying at on the morning of 21 February.

 

While initial investigations suggest an accidental fall, the police have sent the body to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.

 

Authorities are also working to contact the next of kin for further arrangements, reported MGR online.
