Qman Posted February 28 Posted February 28 From recent news, a maintenance worker called security when no one answered the door. Security could see a body on the floor and called 911 who came and entered the home. The dead dog was in a kennel in the bathroom (did not mention if kennel was open or closed) and two other dogs could go in and out through a pet door in the home. A search warrant was obtained so authroities could collect items and documents to further investigate. All does seem odd and the autosopsy and tosicology reports should identify the real cause. So far there is not evidence of foul play. As GH is desceribed as frail and had a cane with him he could have easily fallen but you would expect his wife to respond but she was in another room. The dead dog makes the whole thing more strange and would seemingly indicate something like a gas leak or carbon monoxide. The date of death is unknown but appears to have been a while. Also odd that as a 95 year old none of his children seem to have been in recent contact or alerted aurthorities to do a health check. Sad that his memory may be more associated with his unusual passing than his career.
PomPolo Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Need RTP on the case they would have this solved in a day RIP to the Dog I love Alsations! "We all got it comin', kid." 1

ExpatOilWorker Posted February 28 Posted February 28 As mysterious as this: A Northern California family of three that had been reported missing was found dead Tuesday along with the family's dog on a hiking trail in a remote area of the Sierra National Forest, authorities said. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/john-gerrish-ellen-chung-daughter-found-dead-sierra-national-forest/

Doubtful as they weren't even in the same room. She, supposedly in the bathroom on floor, and he was elsewhere, on floor with cane nearby, from one news-blip, quoting sheriff's dept. 1 dog dead, in a kennel, inside, and 2 other dogs outside, so a bit strange if suicide. I hadn't heard about the other 2 dogs. Were they dead, too? If so, that might change my prediction above. Also, some more information on the deaths has changed my prediction a little, but I'll wait until I hear if all 3 dogs were dead. 1

Latest is that GH had been dead for 10 days before being found by two maintenance workers, time of death estimated from his pace maker report.

My amended prediction is that Hackman died of natural causes in the mudroom. His wife found him and then killed the house dog and committed suicide.

connda Posted March 2 Posted March 2 From the time the authorities said, "Nothing to see hear," you can bet that there is "Something to see there."
GammaGlobulin Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Obviously, there must be some sort of French Connection to these deaths.
