A Chinese couple, arrested in a raid at a luxury condominium in Kathu, Phuket, are accused of operating an illegal business in Thailand. Immigration officers and crime division units surprised the 43-year-old man, Bin, and his 39-year-old partner, Chen, at their residence on February 27.

Both are wanted on arrest warrants issued by the Phuket Provincial Court for allegedly engaging in business ventures reserved exclusively for Thai nationals. The authorities, mindful of protecting local businesses, are clamping down on illegal foreign-run operations.

Though the exact nature of their business remains undisclosed, sources indicate it involved activities restricted by Thai law to preserve fair competition. The arrest, amidst heightened scrutiny of foreign entrepreneurs exploiting legal gaps, is part of a broader initiative to enforce compliance with Thai regulations.

Phuket Immigration officials expressed their determination to uphold these laws, a sentiment echoed by local business communities concerned about foreign competition. The couple is now in police custody, as the investigation unfolds and legal proceedings commence, reported The Thaiger.

Fair competition = No competition

This article is very typical of the articles here I have no idea what business it was or is who the owners are Chinese and if they really wanted to close it all down they have to shut the country cause there’s so many businesses they’re either run by Chinese or other foreigners they’re not Thai do a corporation done by lawyers that are just greedy who want money TIT
