There is an international school in Kao Yai. Its name is something like St. Stephen. Try google. Very expensive (500K/year).

There is Khon Kaen Vithes Sueksa Bilangual School http://www.kkvs.ac.th/ in Khon Kaen, about 200K to 250K/year

No other International/Bilangual schools in Isarn that I know of.

St. Stephen's Web site is http://www.sis.edu/

International Schools Association of Thailand http://www.isat.or.th/home.asp lists many international schools in Thailand. http://www.ajarn.com/ is a web site for Farang teachers. They have a forum.

There are bilingual schools, which are not in the above association. The difference between 'international' and 'bilingual' is not very clear to me. Anyway: if you look for something in Isarn then it is this two: KKVS and St. Stephen's

There are a lot of private kindergardens and some private primary schools all over Isarn. But they can not be compared with this two.

The city of Korat has several good schools but, to the best of my knowledge, only Assumption College provides a full English Programme (EP). The EP teaches English, Mathematics and Science in English with the remaining subjects taught in Thai. The school is located close to the main bus station, not far from the Mall and Big C. They have a comprehensive website that explains what the school is all about and with lots of pictures (http://ccu.acn.ac.th/ep/). ;)I am considering sending my daughter to Assumption College when she turns six in a few years time. :o

To add to my post above, the school fees for Assumption College are very affordable for most expats. From memory the fees are about 75,000 to 100,000 baht per year. In comparisson, the cost of International schooling can run into many times those figures and make a serious dent in one's living expenses. :o

Only place we could find for our 12 year old is ST. John Mary International school in Saraburi. 200K baht a year includes room and board. American curriculum and the English teachers actually speak English and not some pig-latin english they learned in the PI.

My son started on the English Program at Assumption College last year, the same age as your daughter is now.. he is enjoying it very much. The EP starts at kindergarten and goes all the way up... But even so I would not consider the education equal to that available UK.. for true equivalence you need a proper international school - and there are few in Isaan. Some info: Korat Schools.
