if you order a dish in Thailand and it's not cooked how you like it, would you send it back?

Can't say I have ever had undercooked food here.

I have had mediocre food in some restaurants. I say nothing, and never go back.

For me it is a resounding yes.

Countless times i've ordered thai food not spicy, then too spicy, steaks medium well, then raw, burgers cooked well done, then raw in the middle.

curries not spicy, blew my firggin head off.

beer with no ice, comes in a glass filled with ice.

pizza with no pineapple, theres pineapple all over the shop.

the worst and most dangerous is under-cooked chicken. many times ive sent chicken back that was still pink inside, that is extremely dangerous and could actually kill someone.

time to up your game, thailand.

get your bleedin act together!

regards,

bob.

Never happened to me. I don't know where are you going to for dinner.

But if you go into a steak house you will get what you order. And if you go into a Italian Pizza Restaurant (not one of a chain) you'll get your pizza or pasta according to your order.

I'm not sure, but you might have looked for a proper steak at at local market. From a street vendor ????😳😳😳

It's not a good idea to antagonize people who prepare your food. They might take revenge by spitting in it.

I don't think we are living in the same Thailand been here 20 years and still can only think of one time I ordered a medium rare beef and it was well done. I did eat it anyway because I know when over cooked the only way to fix it is to throw it away and make a new. I did let the owner know tho, and he wanted to compensate me, but it was good so I declined.

Or maybe we have different levels of tolerance. I might be perfectly fine with something you send back to the kitchen.

It depends on how big the error is. If I get raw chicken, then it will definitely go back. Happened a few times. And of course, if it comes out like you say, and you ordered totally different, then they would either have to fix it, or take it back. No so much problems with that, though. Might be around 10 times in the last 20 years, so that could have been in any other country as well.

Oh lads, look, it’s Blumpkin Bob back again, bravely waging his never-ending war against, alas, the horrors of… mild inconveniences in restaurants. Truly, mate, your struggle is beyond inspiring. Taking the world to new heights even. While the rest of us plebs are just out here barely existing, you’re on the frontlines, battling rogue cucumber slices, stray ice cubes, and the existential terror threat of a lightly grilled chicken breast.

Bankless Bob, you fragile little daffodil, have you ever stopped to consider that maybe, just maybe, the common denominator in all your tragic dining disasters… isn't Thailand? Because somehow, despite millions of people eating in the hub of deliciously prepared chicken, and without issue, you are the only one who seems to be getting systematically poisoned, betrayed, and emotionally devastated by the local food scene.

And let’s be real, Bludgeoning Bob, are you actually being served raw steaks and uncooked chicken on a regular basis? Or are we just dealing with another chapter of The Adventures of Bob, the Perpetual Serial Victim of Bad Intentions, where every minor inconvenience is dialed up to an 11 on a scale of 1-10 just so that you can stomp your feet, shat your shorts, and demand that an entire country “get its bleedin’ act together”?

Thailand isn’t the problem here, Bruv. It’s just another day, and you’re still mad. Cry even harder and soon enough Thailand is bound to hear your pleas and have some empathy for all your unrivaled moaning...

Chump old mate why do you bother to reply to the  idiot Batty Bobby If no-one answers him he just might ..might piss off.

Send it back by all means. Specify very clearly in your order what you want:

"not spicy" is still spicy to some; hence make sure "zero chili"
"not sweet", same story; tell them you're a diabetic
the cooking style is another subject; looking at the hygiene at most street kitchens you certainly want any meat "well done" as everything else might give you the willies. You will not die over a pink chicken - worst case is serious diarrhea or vomitting.

No pineapple on a pizza, then order a different pizza. Should there still be pineapple pieces on the pizza, remove it. The ice in a glass for your beer can be disposed of before you pour the beer.

If all that does not work, do it as I do. All my Thai food desires (and I love it) is being cooked by my wife, who still applies the same kitchen discipline for more than 40 years, no sugar, no MSG and seasoned to taste with no chili for me 😉

No problem for me; so, we seems not to dine at the same places...:whistling:
