Ridiculous comment. It's a law that serves no purpose. As for past midnight 10.30 in the morning falls into this period yet buying some beer or a bottle of wine or a bottle of vodka etc. is not possible at the supermarkets at this time and apart from the beer not available in the small shops.

Why would my opinion be ridiculous? Why would you live in a tropical country and drink at night? People in Thailand go to bed early and rise early. Not rocket Science, nor ridiculous.  But you like to show your teeth, I guess.

It seems that most people are in favor of drinking all day every day.

Most people IMO are in favour of being able to drink at any time of the day that suits their lifestyle/wishes for that day/occasion and not to drink all day.

PS; Drinking all day everyday is a medical/physical  impossibility anyway.

It seems that most people are in favor of drinking all day every day. I can understand Buddhists hoping other Buddhists don't drink on Buddhist holidays but that seems like a lost cause after several centuries.

Maybe having a midday break from alcohol sales is weird but just allow supermarket sales to start from 12pm as well as hotels. Who needs a whisky at 9am?

Maybe not a whisky, but an occasional Bloody Mary can be beneficial. Or a Champagne breakfast.

Last time I checked, mom and pop shops didn't stock quality vodkas or champagne. Only local lao khao and the undrinkable buffo piss they call beer here.

The 2 - 5 rule of no alcohol sales is ridiculous. Longer opening hours don't necessarily mean longer or more drinking!

Also if anyone wants to buy alcohol between 2 and 5 they just ignore supermarkets and the 7/11, pop in a local Thai shop and buy it, no problem.

"Longer opening hours don't necessarily mean longer or more drinking!"

Completely agree! I posted on here a while ago that when they increased the drinking hours in Scotland the naysayers  expected the level of drunkenness to go up, whereas it actually went down! The reasons given were that people only have a certain amount of cash to spend on alcohol, and by extending the drinking hours, drinkers were consuming the same amount of alcohol, but stretching it out for longer, so drinking slower = less drunk!
