Anywhere with so many stray dogs, broken pavements and such low health and safety standards will always be 3rd world

Change that from stray dogs to homeless people and you have described most American cities.

To my mind, after decades of living here I see nothing has moved on/improved.

Obviously you don't have any better place to go to?

So this is the best for you, why complain?

If TH becomes "1st world", where would you go to?

(mostly its the 1st world people who comes to TH, isn't it?)

Thais still behave like ignorant, arrogant, petulant children.

They are brainwashed to the max.

The school system is a joke.

Healthcare is OK (only if you have money)

The wages are a laughing stock.

Pollution is a disgrace. The pavements are a dangerous joke, with more holes than a dry sponge..

The locals seem totally oblivious to what's is going on in the outside world, what's more important is whether it's moo ping or som tum for lunch...

The government and constant change in leadership is a joke.

The police are on the take 24/7 and driving standards are absolutely abysmal.

Did I miss anything?

Feel free to add your thoughts/comments.

regards,

bob.

Other than that it's fine.😉

Where do you live in Thailand?
Here in BangTao, Phuket is not third world.

But I doubt you could afford to live here.

Every country has slums and poor.

It's a much better place than Australia, it's going backwards.

From your many postings, I see nothing but negativity from you, It's time for you to go home mate.

I reckon you'll be back here quick smart with a positive attitude.

I've always been treated very fairly by the government hospitals, police and courts. The government schools did a good job with my daughter, and now my son. Banking, mobile and internet services are much better than currently available in the UK.

But like nearly all of Asia, it's still the 3rd world.

That's right.

So the term "3rd world" becomes abstract and practically meaningless.
