The last time I went to Vietnam (2024) I paid $25 for an online e-visa, although I only went for the weekend.

Looking online it appears that UK citizens can just enter without one.

Any first-hand recent experience is very welcome.

Thanks in advance

I last went when it was 14 days, very easy, in fact I went so often they hijacked the last page of my passport to track I wasn't there the other 16 days in the month without having to read my entire passport.

None of this 'you come too often' nonsense like Thai immigration.

I went a few years ago with Thai wife and my UK passport  , both visa exempt as far as remember because of ASEAN rule they made for Thais and UK not needing visa .

Went there last year with my Philippine g.f, no problems at all, we are going back at the end of this week.

Only thing to consider is that my girlfriend, Philippine, is only allowed "21 days" which includes day of arrival and day of departure limiting us to 20 nights.

Walk and walk up to immigration give me your passport and walk through. Don't fly into ho chi Minh City whatever you do.

Thanks.... but why why not fly into HCMC?

That's exactly what I plan to do this weekend.

Nothing wrong with flying into HCMC. Yes, sometimes the lines at immigration are a bit long, but I have never waited more than 50 minutes or so, average around 20 minutes.

You do need an outbound flight reservation on visa exemption, but immigration rarely asks for it.
