I feel like a segment of Brit’s are always looking for trouble.

It's a segment of society - primarily chav like characters, unable to handle their booze, load up on other-stuff...      we see it with all nationalities....

Every week we see a new flavour, Israeli's, Chinese, Russians, Swiss, Brits, Aussies, Germans, French etc etc...

... And every time some genius makes a sweeping generalisation about that nation....

That said, you haven't fallen into the trap that some idiots do generalise sweeping with a very broad brush, you simply highlighted that there is a 'segment of Brits' - but thats true of any nation... all have their utter idiots...

We have our own on here... those who would see a 2 day over-stayer kicked out for ever, those alcoholics who can't help themselves and drink drive - there are dumb people who do (or write) dumb stuff all over - and thats why the news is as often as colourful as it is....

You know the cause of death then? It was the force used to subdue him that caused his death? As I remember cause of death is awaiting an autopsy.

Yes, i do, he was choked. We've seen this before, police put a suspect in chokehold, he dies. Man tries kinky choking during sex, girl dies. It takes little for a person to choke to death. This was very clearly one of those instances.

Yep, another case of a Brit starting a fight in Thailand and forgetting the Golden Rule.

If you want to start a fight, you better be able to actually fight.

Seems like a weekly occurrence here in Thailand since I have lived here, the Soi 6 bill dodgers, the guy who kicked the security guard in the nuts etc etc

Sounds like a great idea for a youtube channel. You could teach them how to be proper posh tw8ts.

Hard to teach poshness.

You really have to be born into it.

I could teach them how to speak proper but.

Some nations have a much higher segment than others.

I recall you telling us of you having an altercation with Thais before. I suspect you may also be British?

Can’t see any reason for a court case.

Unless they find his drug dealer.

This was positively methamphetamine abuse, or kratom, or maybe Red Bell w/ ciggies and laced pot.

No one -- and I mean NO ONE - just drops dead at 28.

He wouldn't even acknowledge the translation app on the mobile handed to him, clear signs of a drug induced stupor.

RIP young man.

Yeah.  You are totally correct!  It was 100% undoubtably meth. No question or doubt. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Unless it was Red Bull or cigarettes, as you mentioned. But it’s a fact that it was obviously meth unless it was something else. Maybe he was vaping or huffing paint thinner. If not,  definitely meth ir some kind of a fungal infection perhaps.

There's still a lot left out of this story...

.... Why was he running away from the Karaoke place ?

If he was simply refused entry, what possible reason did he have to run ?

.... is being 'drugged up' an excuse they made up ?

Did he actually enter the Karaoke and build up a bill ? then try and escape without paying ?

.... Did they heavily pad his bill which led to an altercation that he tried to escape ?

.... If he was simply running away from a Karaoke place he was rejected entry from, why did they even bother to chase him at all ???   there was no reason to follow him, they simply could have let him run...

Instead, they caught up with him, got off their bike, tried to restrain him, then he tried to take their bike, then they restrained him again and he died.

Tragedy struck a Bangkok street on Sunday night when a British man, later identified as a 28-year-old, suddenly died after a tumultuous encounter with local karaoke bar workers. The incident unfolded near Soi Pracharat Sai 1, Section 7/1, in the bustling Bang Sue district, drawing considerable attention from officials and passers-by.

The Briton was discovered lying face-up on the pavement, with visible bleeding from his nose. Officers responding from the Bang Pho Police Station were unable to identify him initially due to the absence of personal identification, but details emerged through Thai media scrutiny.

This unsettling episode began when the foreigner was seen exhibiting erratic behaviour, sprinting from Kiak Kai Intersection towards a local karaoke venue.

Witnesses account that his attempt to storm the bar was thwarted by two alert workers due to his suspicious demeanour. As the man’s eccentric actions persisted, the workers mounted their motorcycle to assist him, stemming perhaps from concern or mere curiosity.

However, when they reached him, their efforts to communicate floundered, culminating in an unintended scuffle. The workers attempted to facilitate conversation by handing over a mobile phone loaded with a translation app, but the man’s agitation seemed to intensify.

In an unexpected twist, he seized the phone and tried to abscond. The workers managed to retrieve their phone, but the foreigner was not deterred and turned his attention to their motorcycle parked nearby, trying to make off with it despite lacking the key.

A brief physical altercation followed as the workers attempted to deter him, which unexpectedly led to his sudden collapse and subsequent death. Witnesses nearby, including another karaoke worker, speculated on drugs or sheer exhaustion from his frantic activities as possible culprits in his unforeseen demise.

Despite the shocking nature of the incident, the karaoke workers assert their tussle with the man wasn't severe enough to be lethal.

Both remain in police custody for investigative questioning, while the foreigner’s body has been sent for an autopsy to clarify the exact cause of death. As the authorities await these autopsy results, the workers face a period of uncertainty, pending any formal charges.

While this incident leaves questions unanswered, it underscores complexities faced by foreign nationals in unfamiliar territories and the challenges local authorities encounter in such perplexing situations, reported The Thaiger.

Yes of course it was the cheating Thais fault. The Englishman was behaving like a perfect gentleman and didn’t bring it upon himself three times.

At least you are consistent if very predictable.

I agree. Turns out he WAS a posh kid, but he must have been high on something. His behaviour was out there and consistent with meth hyper.

The Thais had to defend themselves and did not realise what they were doing. Killing him, which is unfortunate but clearly caused by the Brit's bizarre actions.

UPDATE:

British Tourist's Identity Confirmed After Bangkok Footpath Death

A British tourist, now identified as 28-year-old Nick Weir from Salisbury, tragically lost his life in Bangkok’s Bang Sue district. Found on a city footpath, Weir died after a confrontation with karaoke bar workers spiralled out of control.

The chaos began with erratic behaviour as Weir tried to enter a local bar, demanding beers. Bar staff stopped him, prompting a chase by staff on a motorcycle, leading to a violent struggle.

Weir allegedly grabbed a phone in the scuffle, trying to escape but ended up pinned down by the workers.

Police report that the workers claimed their actions weren't aggressive enough to be fatal. However, CCTV footage shows an intense confrontation, raising questions about what truly happened.

Witnesses suspect Weir's erratic behaviour may have been drug-induced, and exhaustion could've contributed to his demise.

Currently, the two workers are under police scrutiny, but no charges have been filed. An autopsy will clarify the cause of death.

Meanwhile, the British Embassy has been informed, and support is provided to Weir's family.

I have seen numerous young tourist with severe metal disorders displaying bizarre behaviors in the past year. Thailand is the last place you want to travel to if you are unable to mind your own business and maintain self control. This new younger generation from the west lacks self control.

It truly is UNREAL.

I never saw this 15-20 yrs ago to the extent it's visible today amongst falang in TH.

It's almost like their brains are malformed, or they were injected with something causing brain rot.

But not just Thailand.

Seen it in the States and Canada too.

There's video! He clearly tried to steal the motorbike with 2 guys standing next to it. He's an idiot.

He knew he would get into a fight and still tried to steal the motorbike. He rolled the dice....and lost.

These kind of people don't belong here.

"He's an idiot." He was an idiot - he's now dead.

It looks (and sounded like)  he was running away from some kind of trouble (imagined or otherwise) but that's no excuse for his behaviour, and there were a few punches thrown by the big Thai guy  trying to subdue him I guess.

My assumption is he was on drugs (yabba?) and had a severe attack of paranoia and just wanted to get away from his demons! Unfortunately, it ended up tragically for him.

And not to mention that the 2 dudes could have contacted the police and let them handle it. Taking the law in your own hands doesn't make it right.

Yeah, right! And how long would it have taken them to get there?

My assumption is that they choked him to death. The guys who did it know that too and that's where the running a mile BS comes from.

They sit in those air conditioned booths at intersections, head down messaging their “mia Noi’s” and watching TikTok.
