Likewise, the term “Country of Residence”also seems “simple” and “clear”, yet I can’t select Thailand.

Agreed.

If you have a visa or reentry permit suggest that be entered.

And do you think it would be a problem if you fill out departure information within 60 days but then you decide to extend 30 days more at your local immigration and remain more time in the country?

For example, if entering visa exempt, I definitely wouldn't skip the departure flight information.  That would almost certainly get questions from the IO.

I don't believe it would be necessary if you are coming with a tourist visa for example and you should buy an onward ticket to exit Thailand within 60 days if you are coming visa exempt, so you could show it in case they might ask

Well I am feeling better about this so long as slackers like myself can fill out TDAC or a TM6 on arrival....And if this puts me in the slow line, thats fine...

Best to check with your own IO.

Exactly.

I came back in Oct with TM30 from 2015.

Done a 12 month ext and 2 x 90 days since then without any problem.

But why not just enter the onward flight date in the online form.  Then the IO almost certainly won't even ask you about the onward flight.  Makes everyone's life easier.

i don't really feel comfortable to register a departure flight on the online tdac, as it will be in the immigration system and what in case you might end up on extend your 60 days exemption at your local immigration? I don't know if it could be a problem, maybe they will check it or not at all

Obtaining a 30 day extension has nothing to do with TDAC.

Would not be an issue

That's what I think too. It's just another creep, creep, toward us doing all the work - while paying for the air travel and the entry fee with no human service. In Japan, they made me do it all. No check in desks. Nice ANA ladies around at the self serve kiosks, but that's not the point. Like many (not just Japan), I had to self-check-in, scan my passport, print my boarding passes, print my baggage tags, glue them to my bags, then take my bags to the self-loading belts (hoof them up yourself of course). Before you know it, we'll be loading them directly into the belly of the aircraft ourselves with a loudspeaker playing on a loop saying 'keep moving, place the bags in the last possible spot in the rear of the aircraft'. They'll replace the flight attendants with 'safety robots'. A meal? Make it yourself in the galley's microwaves.

I'll fly it. Always wanted to have a go at that, I'm sure we'll be OK.

Leaving Thailand later this week but fortunately arrive back on the 24th. The form looks ready to go now and I didn't see when it actually starts on the official site, just on this post.

Hopefully all the issues will be sorted out before I leave again, and I'm sure there will be many.

Has nothing to do with that.

You can't do analytics on a mountain of paper forms.  If it's all digitized, they can then do analytics.  Who is arriving from where.  Where are they going after they arrive. Etc.  That type of data is very valuable for tourism purposes and other things.

So you mean peviously they weren't doing anything with the TM6 cards then. No research by manually inputing details like country, age, duration of stay? Of course they were. This just makes it easier for them and more work for the traveler.

Well just filled all in with all just fake crab. Possible.

Skipped page 3 health. also not needed, not red starred

I pressed preview

(you must) and then surprisingly 2 more questions MUST be filled in

Weird, first next and next and then preview, but it is essential.

* Please specify an email to send Thailand Digital Arrival Card

* I have read and accepted the Terms and conditions.

My guess is that they will abandon this "improvement" just month before "high season" i.e. about Sept-Oct.

It is nothing else just fill'n'print webform, nothing to do with sophisticated Web 2.0 or some mega-database.

Remember COVID cards and some fancy QR codes? same-same.

Selecting the country of residence is a big problem.

They have now added Thailand to the list.

In any event just put passport country.

it's ridiculous and nonsense to me

Yes, quite.

It is not taking account of the people living here.

Country of Residence list, doesn't include Thailand.

What happens to the expats who live here(not anywhere else)?

Personally don't think it really matters.

I live in Thailand continuously on annual extensions.

I don't have permanent resident status in Thailand.

I have temporary permission of stay.

On the TDAC I will put my passport country, Oz for country of residence.

Thank you for your post.

I am not a permanent resident either(annual extension of one year visa).

Someone told me they updated the list of Country of Residence.

And now, Thailand is said to be among them though.

Before they determine it is the useless hassle maker, they must learn the lesson(so many people que up at the  Help Desk at all of the points of entry.

Saying it is to speed up the immigration process, it only causes adverse effect(more labor needed than old arrival card).

From Tod (OP) Updated info....

"It will go live the 28th of April so people arriving May 1st can apply
AND
It will have Thailand as a choice in country of residence too
"

Frankly irrelevant IMO.

Put passport country.

I can only imagine the VAST numbers of people who will arrive in Thailand without having done any thing......I still dont get the thing about only getting TDAC 3 days before flying.....This pointless rule could very well sink the whole ship..

You would have thought this was the first country they would have included, not the last

The window for doing it opens 3 days prior. You can do it up to departure.

WHO SUBMIT?

Applies regardless of any visa currently held including any re-entry pass. Long Term Resident visa included according to BOI. Even though the form is formated as a visitor (the term "visitor" is mentioned in TDAC videos and articles) to Thailand, your country of residence cannot be Thailand and form requires information for departure from Thailand back to your origin country as if the trip to Thailand is part of a round trip.

Hopefully there will be further refinement in the form.

Putting the country of passport(as the place of residence).

I noticed it makes a problem.

As telephone number filling is also mandatory.

I only have phone number in Thailand; nowhere else.

If I list country of citizenship, I cannot fill it.

Yes you can.  It fills the country code based on the country you enter.  But you can change it.  Even if not it is of no consequence, they are not going to call you.
