Pattaya: Biker Crashes, Then Beaten by Pickup Driver in Road Rage Attack

A young motorcyclist was left  injured after a collision with a pickup truck in Pattaya, at approximately 19:10 on 2 April. The incident, which occurred on Soi Khao Talo  in the Nong Prue area, took a violent turn when the driver of the pickup allegedly assaulted the injured teenager.

 

The crash involved a white Honda Click 160i motorcycle, registered in Chonburi, and a black Toyota Vigo pickup truck with Bangkok plates. The motorcyclist, identified as 18-year-old Prayut, was found lying on his back at the scene, suffering from a broken left leg and multiple abrasions. Rescue personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation promptly transported him to Bang Lamung Hospital for treatment.

 

 

Prayut’s mother, 37-year-old Kanokwan, arrived at the scene after receiving a distress call from her son. She described her anguish upon finding him injured and in pain. However, her distress deepened when she encountered the pickup truck driver.

 

“The driver told me he was not at fault and that my son was to blame. He even said he wasn’t afraid of anyone and insisted he had done nothing wrong,” she recounted.

 

Bystanders claimed the pickup driver physically assaulted Prayut after the crash, kicking him while he lay injured and even threatening to shoot him if he had a gun.

 

Following the attack, angry residents confronted the pickup driver. Tensions boiled over as bystanders reportedly began hitting him, using helmets as weapons and shouting at him for his actions. The driver was only spared further harm when traffic police from Nong Prue Police Station arrived to de-escalate the situation.

 

 

The driver of the pickup truck was taken into police custody at Nong Prue Police Station. Upon investigation and despite a press pass in the car’s window, authorities discovered he was not a journalist. He claimed the truck belonged to his father, who had affixed the sticker long ago for unknown reasons.

 

Police are now investigating the incident, including allegations of physical assault and the circumstances leading to the crash.

 

Kanokwan has called for justice, expressing fears that her son may not receive fair treatment. “My son was already injured, yet he was attacked. I just want to make sure this is properly investigated,” she stated.

 

Authorities have assured a full inquiry and legal action as necessary.

This is just another day of retard tier driving in Thailand. I'm sure if we got to see the whole video fully zoomed out there would be a million things going wrong on all levels. 

 

From the angle we have it looks like it was a normal day in Thailand. Motorbikes driving too fast in no particular lane and a car creeps out and hits one of the motorbikes. Totally normal here to see driving like this and Thais are none bothered until they get themselves killed.

It appears the pick-up was trying to force it's way into the road and the motorcycle clipped the front of it.

The driver was totally at fault

When I met a dog attack while in public market(more than a decade ago), the nearby shop keeper stepped in.

 

He banged the nasty dog with his fist, and drove it away.

but not always rationally. If they wanted to avoid these kinds of accidents they need to have some basic road rules but no instead they let everyone do anything and then when someone gets hurt they're shocked and angry.

 

Motorbikes are all over the road in Thailand often going at dangerous speeds and no one yields to each other. Cars then just slowly pull out and wait for the bikes to go around them. This is common driving here but obviously dangerous and gets people killed.

 

It's hard to see from the video but this looks totally normal to me. Whose fault is this? I would say it's everyone's fault for not doing something about it already. Their angry this time was misplaced I think.
