Yeah, good comment. Now it´s his fault.

Sure if the biker left the key with the bike then it's like an invitation. The German just invited himself for a test drive or borrowed the bike.

Or not ?😂

It was a German, not Germans.

I'll explain the difference:

Let's say I reacted To your post with "Idiots". That would indicate all idiots, not just you.

Instead the correct way to answer would be "Idiot", which would apply only to yourself.

If that rule applies across the board... many would 'invite' themselves gladly.

Life is good!

stupid comment at its best...

I am no saint. But I guess you start a joy ride on anything and every thing when you see the keys on or the engine running.

Described yourself well.

ever see the movie dumb and dumber?

this is the order of your comments ... from dumb and dumber...

you should do philosophy 101 again and review your syllogisms

this is how you think:

an orange is round

an orange is a fruit

the earth is round

ergo... the earth is a fruit...

dont try to defend your idiotic comment just accept you made a mistake and apologise

No I wouldn't, for a person like you. You are very good at describing yourself in detail.

Keep listing more movies...

I said the owner is partly at fault for leaving the keys in the ignition, creating temptation or an opportunity that wouldn't have been there otherwise. It's like flashing cash in a bar or leaving your car running when you go into a store. Partly the owner's fault.

your theory is flawed and insinuates honesty and trust is at fault.

OK. Understood that you are right, from a western perspective. However, it is irksome that Thai people should be penalized for the  thieving behavior of some foreigners. It's like victim blaming.

I admire the ability of Thais to leave their helmets on their bikes, even bags. All the western cities are plagued by both opportunistic and organized thieves. Thailand has a societal norm that  punishes the petty thief. In the west we  say, poor misunderstood dear, run along and don't do it again.

Even the helmets get stolen from the bikes, My wife had her's stolen when she was shopping at central, she had quite a way to ride home with no helmet, Im always reluctant to leave my shoes outside the temple,

It isn't a theory when it's common sense. It's inviting temptation. Someone who wouldn't go through the trouble of hot wiring a vehicle might see the keys and think this is easy, and it happens every day. You are partly responsible for a theft if you leave your keys in the ignition. No keys, no theft.

True, some people will steal anything if given the chance. Especially when someone makes it easy for them.

Isn't that crazy, how our world is turning upside down recently, our morality, our understanding of Justice, you name it.

20 years ago it was the other way around. I still remember that funny slogan:

"Come visit Poland, your car is already here."

Pretty dangerous, isn’t it?

In some countries, owner of the stolen vehicles become liable for the 3rd party damages caused by the thief(if the key is left with the vehicle).

Police acted swiftly this time. Why? “Falang stole my bike” . Police:”did I hear correctly? Falang?”. “Yes”. Police to partner “ I think we’ll have Johnny Walker Black tonight instead of that awful local stuff. Party time, let’s go…”.

I think in the UK if your keys had been left in the ignition when it got stolen your insurance is null and void,

If a person is stupid enough to admit he/she left their keys in the ignition, well.......

Yes! That's right, there are probably plenty of rapes in Thailand as there is no prostitution.

Many crimes are of an opportunistic nature. I seriously doubt that this guy hotwired the bike, so it is very likely that the keys were left in the bike. You wonder what these foreigners are thinking committing an act like this, it seems like such a ridiculous level of desperation or was the guy high?

I was he just looking for a thrill, hopefully he'll get a nice thrill in the slammer when some of the locals warmly welcome him.

I'm assuming they left the keys in the bike? that's a bad habit, We pulled up outside Amazon the other morning I stayed in the car and there was a brand new bike along side me with the keys in it, I'm sure people think it doesn't happen, there was a gang going around Rawai some years ago stealing bike/scooters just picking them up on to the back of a truck,

They stole my wifes brand new Fino still had the red plate on it,

Drive around on a old knacker, nobody steals them. 🤣😅

What an absolute monkey,
