Two people have died and another was injured in a head-on collision between two pick-up trucks in Kalasin province early morning on 8 April.

The Asok Somdet Rescue Unit responded to an emergency call from the Kalasin provincial command centre at around 07:30. The report indicated a serious road crash involving two pick-up trucks on the Somdet–Huai Phueng Road, near a watermelon stand in Lam Huai Lua Subdistrict, Somdet District.

Upon arrival, rescue workers found two severely damaged vehicles: a green Isuzu pick-up with Kalasin plates and a grey Toyota Revo with Roi Et registration. The impact had completely crushed the front ends of both vehicles.

Three people were reported injured, with two of them found unconscious and trapped inside one of the vehicles. Rescue volunteers used hydraulic cutting tools to free the victims from the wreckage and immediately began CPR on both individuals. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, both were later pronounced dead at the scene.

The third victim sustained injuries but survived. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation by officers from Somdet Police Station.

Police are continuing to gather evidence and question witnesses to determine what led to the fatal collision.
