A young girl has been safely rescued after falling into an open construction hole, in the Wang Thonglang area of Bangkok late afternoon on 8 April.

At approximately 17:50 the emergency hotline 199 received a distress call reporting that a child had fallen into a hole in Soi Sahakarnpramoon, off Pracha Uthit Road, located in Wang Thonglang Subdistrict and District.

Emergency responders from the Bang Kapi Fire and Rescue Station were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival they confirmed that the victim was a young girl, with the hole partially filled with water.

Working swiftly in coordination with local volunteers, rescue personnel were able to retrieve the child from the hole, using rescue straps and sling, pulling her out of the tight hole. Thankfully, she was brought to safety without sustaining any serious injuries.

Authorities have praised the prompt action of the fire and volunteer rescue teams in ensuring the child’s safety and rescue. Authorities will carry out checks of the area, to prevent similar incidents in the future.
