Firefighters battled a blaze early morning of 11 April, at a plastic recycling factory in the Chom Thong district of Bangkok, managing to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby residential homes. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

The fire broke out at around 04:10, at the Chok Pranee Recycling Factory, located in Soi Chom Thong 13, Soi 8. Police from Bang Mod Station responded to reports of a fire affecting residential properties in the area and quickly coordinated with fire crews from Daokanong, as well as rescue volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation.

Upon arrival, authorities found large flames and thick smoke engulfing the rear section of the factory. The blaze spread rapidly over an estimated area of one rai. Firefighters took over an hour and half, to bring the fire under control and prevent it from reaching adjacent homes.

Jinda Rakkhong, 60, the factory caretaker, told officials that the fire appeared to have started at the back of the premises and spread quickly. She confirmed that no one was inside the affected area when the fire broke out.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. Investigators from the Forensic Science Division are expected to examine the scene to determine the origin and circumstances surrounding the incident.
