It was not just the great movies, Karate Kid, Back to the Future, Top Gun, Rambo, Ghostbusters, Coming to America, Rocky 3, or the great music, Can you imagine "I just called to say I love you" now? It's unthinkable. It really was a more innocent time. Uptown Girl, Imagine, songs that have stood the test of time. No Me Too, no social media, no mobile phones. And me riding my stallion in the pine forest, slaying on the basketball court, on my first date with Nicola, making friends for life. What a time it was. I would give anything to go back to the 1980s. Things are way worse now.

And using Whatsapp I can keep in touch with my family in the UK daily, I can send them photos and videos, we can have video calls whenever we like for free. Yep, technology has definitely made our lives worse, right? Let's roll back to before all that existed.

The 80s were good, for sure, but so were the 50s, 60s, and 70s. It's not like there are any bright lines you can draw. For example, you can't really compare the first half of the 60s to the second half of the 60s. And the second half of the 60s sort of morphed into the 70s and continued for a while. The mid 70s started a newer era, I think, but by 81 Reagan won the election in a landslide and the world changed yet again. I'd say the 80s continued through for first half of the 90s. By 2001, the world changed forever, and it's been downhill ever since. If I had to pick a day to start a return trip and go forward, I'm not sure what date I'd pick. 1967?
