You sound as ignorant as that Jesse Watters clown. Only about 14% of China’s exports are sold to the US. Even if the US completely stops all trade with China, which it can’t do as evidenced by exempting over $100B from the incorrectly termed reciprocal tariffs, it will merely hurt China, not destroy it.

Obviously it's an important part of their exports. But it's about 15%. So yes, it should be able to weather the loss for a while. As for the USA, apart from damage to its economy, it's going to be damaging politically. I don't think Trump's position among working class people is going to be improved when their living costs rise sharply. And those are the people who are going to be affected disproportionately.

Apart from the question of respective needs, how much more does China need to. 15% will hurt but is it enough to stop them. They can also export more to other countries.

It could really once from anywhere.  The materials are more of an issue, but manufacturing is not isolated to one county.
