I guess they will stop blaming Black Californians for the mess that state got itself into.  Less than 6%...no power to impact any city, except the continued destruction of Oakland.

Except California is financing the red states.

I'm really not sure how Catholics have suddenly been introduced to this discussion.

As you already know...I LOVE the Irish, for example.

I treat all religions....and all religious beliefs...and all believers....THE SAME.

I respect their right to believe in anything.

I believe in nothing.

I am a scientist.

And, I do NOT mean a Christian Scientist.

But, that guy URI who bends spoons?

I believe in him, obviously.

You were the one claiming that the form of baptism was important. You are either a liar or a troll.

Wow, Man....

Are you old enough to remember....

image.png.c050718a1eddfafb04b731ae1502ff99.png

And, please believe me when I tell you....

THOSE were the GOOD OLD DAYS.....

So, right, and you are correct.

These days, nobody is blaming the Black Californians.

BUT, the black Californians are now a very, very small minority of the population of California.

And, the Whites will soon be a small minority, as well.

Yes, FOLKS....

Mexico is a wonderful place.

The culture in Mexico is exactly the same as the culture in the USA....

These days.

Or, I meant, ....

It soon may be.

I am old enough to remember the Watts Riots.

A very terrible time for the USA, and everyone.

I was expecting some details of the advantages of life in Mexico, or at least some affordable places that are safe to be in.

There are many places in Mexico safer than California....BY FAR.

I really enjoyed Villahermosa.....

If I were to move to Mexico, then I would definitely closely look at this city.

Great place.

Wonderful.

Crime used to be very low....in 1991....

Not sure about today, though.

Food is great, if you like Mexican food, which I do.

But, not as advanced as Thailand, of course.

All facetiousness aside:

I really loved this small city.

It was a gem.

And, probably still is.

If I were to move to Mexico...then....

This would be first on my list....

Hope this helps you.....

Note: If you plan to move to, and live in, Mexico...then...Better Brush Up on your Español.....for sure.

I really liked CA, popped in numerous times ... SFO / Napa, LA / Venus beach area,  Hermosa Beach as stuck there for short week, waiting for flights to Hawaii to open up.  San Diego, La Jolla was awesome, popping down to MX while there.

All about 27 to 35  years ago ... :cheesy:

A state in financial crises.   Look at the 'total liabilities in state govt' map

Anyone else ever drive from TJ to Ensenada?  The cops stop every gringo and write tickets or take bribes.  Mexico is a very dirty corrupt mostly Cartel run place.  I would never live there.

Drive a little bit further south than Mexico you come to a small country called Belize you’ll get the best of both worlds I live there for several years it was inexpensive easy access going across the border to Mexico and back never had any problems there including with immigration it was easy PC

Complete and utter BS! American statistics :cheesy:
Did you notice that since 1900 in YOUR table the Racial Composition is between 100% and 200%?!? Statistically impossible, so your whole story is complete baloney...

If it would measure stupidity levels in america, then it would completely believable, because that is way beyond the 100% mark :cheesy:

I have not visited California since.....

1960.

La Jolla was once an amazing place, about 100 years ago.

Now, though, I bet it cannot compare in any good way with what it once was.

Due to population growth, few places on Earth can compare to what they were in the 60s

Dear Folks,

Have many people paid much attention to the rapid demographic shift in California during the past five decades?

Incredible?

Does anybody even remember how great California once was....in the mid-60s???

It was a totally different state, compared to what it has now become.

Do you like it better now?

Or, did you like it better then?

What a waste of a perfectly wonderful state, did you say?

This song was sung WAY BEFORE California became unrecognizable to some of us here.

So sad.

Let's have a few Sad Emojis......why not.....

This rapid transformation is...what....

ASTOUNDING?

Enjoy....

Your memories of a great state....

Regards,

Gamma

I lived in Monterey, rented a house on 17-mile drive opposite end from the golf course but still living in Monterey enabled one to play 3 golf courses cheaply plus I was a US govt civilian so I could play the military courses too for next to nothing.  During that year, I drove my car 50K miles visiting all the fed and state parks throughout the state.  I also got PADI diving certifide in the kelp forest off Monterey.  It only got above 75 degrees (F) once during that entire year, yet if we wanted warm weather we could drive over the hills to Salinas.  Never had any problems with the locals, plenty to do every day.  Great for jogging or other outdoors activity.  Daughter was in the 6th grade there in Pacific Grove which had a program with Arizona State and she scored on the SAT above the average for that year.  But from what I read now, the cost of housing is beyond the average person's wages.  Saw a TV program that said 600K American  workers in California crossed over from Mexico every morning as they couldn't afford housing in Calf.  Also TV indicated that in SF there were no houses for sale under 1 million USD.  But a wonderful year that was anyway!

"No Way Jose'"-Living in Mexico is not safe, it's important to be aware of the risks such as Violent crime, homicide, kidnapping, carjacking, and robbery, is widespread and common. Not for me! Good Luck and Happy Travels.

This is interesting and I do pay attention. I have revisited the area where I was born and it is now part of Korea Town.  Great because I love shopping at H-Mart over Ralph's and Safeway any day!

Thinking about CA reminds me of Del Taco! I miss that place. And Taco Bell -- my go to breakfast place.

You may thank the Democratic leadership for the failure of California.

Time and time again.

So admitting that why are you still democrat

Because I have a hope and a dream of a better world, and there's absolutely nothing in the way of Trump policy that is going to bring that about. He's engaging in nothing but massive destruction of the economy, the environment, the land, the seas, the air, the national lands, the wilderness areas, our alliance with close friends and long term allies, aligning himself with dictators and serial killing despots, and tearing down everything that's good about the world. That is just who Trump is.

Globalization made the world great, the manufacturing ecosystems within globalization and low tariffs allowed the US economy to thrive for decades, and he's never going to bring back manufacturing to the US. End of story, just a slogan. The fact that so many people are buying into his nonsense and destruction, is what is truly sad.

And that is not a party that I want to have anything to do with, on any level, at any time.

No.

It has to do with CULTURE.

I guess you might not understand the importance of culture.

Or, the meaning of culture.

What is culture, anyway?

Do you know?

Do you care?

Culture:  Maybe it is the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively.

Culture:  Just how much culture does it take to design and build a Boeing 747?  Have YOU ever considered ....THAT?

Culture is important.

And, I am NOT talking about Culture Club, either....

I'm a man....really?

Without conviction?

California has as much culture as any state in America. I am an avid jazz fan and I get to enjoy incredible live jazz on most of my trips to California, same applies to the Opera, the LA Philharmonic is now one of the best in the world, the art museums here are world class, the wine dinners that I attend are absolutely stunning, and the list goes on and on and on. So I'm not exactly sure what kind of culture you're referring to. Puppet shows? Cosplay events?

These days I see more white homeless people than I do black, that's just the nature of things in California. It's a broken economy in a sense that the numbers no longer compute, the cost of living has skyrocketed to the point where it is very difficult for the average person in California to live well.

If you don't own a home that's free and clear you're pretty much screwed.
