Hi Folks,

Just out of idle curiosity….

What kind of man drives a Hilux?

For sure, the Hilux makers know, almost exactly, what kind of guy drives a Hilux.

But, do we know?

I certainly do not know for certain.

So, what kind of guy drives a Hilux around these parts?

Would you like to join the crowd?

This has nothing to do with the quality of the VeHicle, but only the Brand Image of the thingy.

So then, how is this thing branded, and what is the pitch, and what kind of man drives a Hilux?

Any good clues?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Gamma

Top marks for the silliest OP of the day/week!

It's a Toyota Pick Up for God's sake.

What kind of man, or woman, drives one?

Someone like me, who needs a reliable Pick Up.

How and why the hell do you think up these questions GG?

Mostly, I was just wondering how this vehicle is branded.

You know...BRANDS....surely.....

Think, for example, McKinsey and Ericsson, for example....

These guys used to be BIG in Asia, and maybe still are, for all I know.

And, if you had sat in on their branding meetings, then you would probably know why I ask this question.

Care to shed some light....by the way....???

AND BY THE WAY....

The headline of this Topic is based on a very, VERY, well-known, and famous....

Advertising Slogan....

I am sure you will recall it....

Hard to top his posts on how Thai houses are better because they are brick are better insulated than American ones. I now see we have simply a lonely old bored dude posting.

McKinsey & Company are corporate seagulls. They promise a gullible board cost savings, taking 10% of the alleged cost savings.

In the process they destroy employee morale.

No-one ever goes back in a couple of years to check whether the purported cost saving was actually achieved long-term. It would be too embarrassing.

A corporate seagull flies in with much screeching, squabbles over scraps, then flies out again after defecating on everyone in the organisation.

Very simple - people who want a truck to excellently tick all the basic boxes of functionality/durability/reliability.

On the flipside you have the expat douchebag mobile called the Ford Raptor and its slightly less idiotic "-trak" trims. Standard Ranger trim is fine but Hilux probably still a better long term choice.

D-MAX, especially the lowered ones often seen in Isaan? Stands for  Douche-MAX.
