Popular Post Social Media Posted Thursday at 09:00 PM Popular Post Posted Thursday at 09:00 PM In a revealing comparison that highlights the dramatic shift in U.S. border policy between administrations, former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement director Tom Homan stated Tuesday that just nine illegal immigrants were released into the country during Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office. This figure is a staggering contrast to the 184,000 released during the same time frame last year under President Biden. Only nine illegal immigrants released into US during Trump’s first 100 days — 99.99% drop from same period under Biden: Homan https://t.co/UxSOXBvV3I pic.twitter.com/1RQ9P5ign2 — New York Post (@nypost) April 29, 2025 Homan shared the figures during an appearance on “Fox and Friends,” drawing a sharp distinction between the two administrations. “In that same time frame that we released nine, [the Biden administration] released 184,000 illegal aliens in the country,” Homan said. “What’s happening on the border, he did in seven weeks what Joe Biden couldn’t — or wouldn’t — do in four years.” He emphasized that each of the nine releases under Trump had exceptional circumstances. According to Homan, four of those migrants were material witnesses in criminal investigations, another four were suffering from “extreme medical distress,” and one was released on humanitarian grounds. “These weren’t people just let in at random,” he explained. “Each case had a specific and urgent reason.” Homan also pointed to a steep decline in daily migrant crossings under Trump’s current administration. “You know what the number was yesterday? 178 … 178 across 2,000 miles of border,” he said, referring to the number of migrants attempting to enter the U.S. “Under the Biden administration, that number could reach as high as 15,000 per day.” The White House credited these numbers to aggressive border policies and celebrated a 99.99% drop in “gotaways,” a term used for individuals who enter the country illegally and evade apprehension. These gotaways, according to officials, represent “the top threat to public safety.” Additionally, Homan revealed that the Trump administration has already deported approximately 139,000 individuals since the former president resumed office. “The numbers are good,” he told reporters during a press briefing at the White House on Monday. While acknowledging that there may be more than 20 million undocumented migrants currently residing in the U.S., Homan stated the administration is prioritizing the estimated 700,000 who have been either accused or convicted of criminal activity. “That’s who we’re looking for now, that’s [what we’re] prioritizing, them and national security threats,” he said. According to official data, the number of illegal crossings in April was around 11,000 — the lowest ever recorded, surpassing the previous record low set in February. In response to the dramatic shift, the White House declared that President Trump has “ushered in the most secure border in modern American history.” Officials added, “President Trump has made good on the promises he made on the campaign trail to usher in an unprecedented era of homeland security.” Adpated by ASEAN Now from NYP 2025-05-02 2 2 1

Brn2Trvl Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM To begin with it’s a BS number. If 9 is .01% of 99.99%, then the starting number is 90,009.0009 to be exact. They stated in April 11,000 illegal immigrants entered. either this is conflicting data with the number nine or they are saying that many attempted to enter, but they didn’t say the word attempted they said, entered in the story. So that’s 30 days from 100 days, averaging this out for the hundred days, the answer is a total of 36,667 illegal border crossings. It’s probably higher because of the story “April and the story is probably emphasizing the lowest number crossing, but we don’t know that because they don’t give all the data so we have to assume as this writer is obviously pro Trump. So really the number 9 doesn’t come from anywhere factually someone just made it up apparently. The reporting in the story is so full of holes. It’s just nonsense. 3 1 1 6

I think you are comparing apples with elephants. Two wholly different statistics. Yes there were a lot of illegal entries, but they were stopped and sent back. Apart from the 9 mentioned in the OP that the immigration authorities stopped but released for the reasons given. So, different statistics. As for the mathematics? I don't expect a politician to be accurate of wholly honest on pretty much anything, so I would never bother to check their maths. Of course, that's 9 that they know about, there might have been many others who have totally evaded the authorities, we don't know that and neither would the politician; and even if they did they wouldn't likely admit to it.

There are those that illegally enter and are detained, and there are those that illegally enter and are NOT detained. The White House credited these numbers to aggressive border policies and celebrated a 99.99% drop in “gotaways,” a term used for individuals who enter the country illegally and evade apprehension. Hardline sure but it worked. As for the law breakers in the US illegally they have to accept the consequences of their actions. The days of being put in high end hotels and govt. subsidised housing and getting tax payer handouts are over.
