I might be mistaken but it sounds like the OP is asking about full implants (“All” on 4, 6 or 8 ) Dentist will pick the anchor points. But great point, I was warned about one of my implants about maybe not enough bone to do it, dentist was pretty blasé & said he could just “Fill It” ended up not being a problem…

So, how long will it take, including recovery time? I might not live that long, I am 78. Again, is it worth doing? Its about balance... What are the reasons behind doing this ? a) Vanity - then forget it - a slight cosmetic improvement will be nice, but not really make any difference for your day to day - vs the pain effort and cost of going through the processes. b) Standard of Life - thats a big drive and the following questions need to be asked. - Is your current standard of life severely impacted by your teeth ? - Can you eat easily (for example) ? - Are you willing to go thrugh the pain of a serious operation (10 hrs I think). - Are you willing to wait 6 months (with temp teeth) while the gum cement sets fully. - Are you will to pay a lot of money for this ? (I'm guessing 800,000 baht). - What do you think your life expectancy will be ? i.e. at 78, especially if you are in pain at the moment, this could give you another 10 years of pain free 'food enjoyment' etc... So the decision has to rely on so many factors... the primary ones being. - Can you afford it ? - Are in you pain (quality of life) ? - Do you consider the future improvement to quality of life worth it ?
richard_smith237 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Note: My Guess at 800,000 baht above - is based on someone I know who's recently gone through the process... ... Replacing his 'whole mouth' (of staind, chipped and damaged teeth, some infected etc)... and having implants... he now has a great smile, but is still has a wrinkly old face !!! 1
Suetape Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I can’t imagine anyone letting their teeth get so bad - even if you have a fear of the dentist. Do it if you can afford to. 1
how241 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I would recommend PBH, dental/implant clinic on the 5th floor. I recently had 2 lower rear implants done there and it came out great. Not the cheapest option But I would see what they recommend. You never know how long you will live and 'if' you have the money then who better to spend it on.

While you can save on labor costs in Thailand, titanium, like gold, is pretty much the same price worldwide i.e. expensive. I can assure you that a prosthetic tooth (implant post, abutment, and crown) does not cost 350 baht to manufacture! 1
bunnydrops Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I have seen where they now only put four implants in each upper and lower, and then make a whole set of teeth that connect to just those four. I don't know if they do anything like that in Thailand. I am the same age as you and don't think I would bother, but it depends on your teeth' bad.

And as his question was based on the incorrect impression implants are cheap here, I have a feeling he won't pursue this further. But in the event he is talking about large number of implants and does want to pursue it, India might make sense.

I recently got 2 Straumann implants as I wanted a top brand. At his age he probably would be OK with a cheaper brand. I would definitely recommend the Straumann brand if money is not an issue. The price included the crown. I think some implant brands will make you pay extra for the crown.

Never heard of Straumann.....had an implant done with Warin 13 years ago and it,s still going strong....currently in the process of having another one done hence my comment on current price.... 1
how241 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago India 'might' be cheaper But you need to factor in the cost of airfare, hotels, visas and the general inconvenience of traveling these days. Also implants are not like repairing a tooth, in that the entire process can take many months, up to 1 year if you need bone grafts and you heal up slowly. Are you going to remain in India all that time of fly up and back several times ???
jcmj Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago It’ll take you at least 6 months if you have good bones for them to drill into. Maybe best to do the plates that clip in on 4 pins top and bottom. Cheaper and still a great smile. Whatever makes you happy and will work. Best talk to a few different dentists. Mine were 35,000 baht each and only done because they were near the front together. I never worry about the top one in the back I’m missing. They have said it will shift for 25 years now. Still looks the same. Good luck.

BexMan Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I had 4 implants replacing just over a quarter of my mouth in October 2021, when aged 64. After extracting some teeth he put me on a weeks antibiotics to reduce the chance of picking up an infection. I paid for a temporary denture, rather than walk around with a big gap and talking weirdly. The Dentist wanted me to wait 6 months for the jaw bone to strengthen before completing the work. For me it was well worth doing as it replaced a slipping denture and the implants will chew through any food easily. They actually feel so more secure than my remaining teeth and bridge. I will probably get my other bridge replaced within the next 2 years. Depends if you have problems now. If it was an issue you feel is affecting your quality of life, I would get it done, even at your age, presuming money is not an issue.
