I'm reading a 1994 Ruth Rendell book and this paragraph still and always rings true.

'At the time he was aware that she had that great gift, on which so many politicians have founded their success, of being able to say nothing at length and in a flowing sequence of polysyllabic, fashionable words, of talking meaningless nonsense in fine mellifluous phrases with absolute self-confidence.'

Spot on, Madam. R.I.P.
