In a heartbreaking plea, a 33-year-old Thai mother from Sisaket province turned to social media, proposing to sell her organs to provide a better life for her one-year-old son. Struggling with poverty and illness, she initially posted pictures of her son on Facebook, seeking an adoptive family for him. Her post revealed the severe conditions they were living in, including the boy having gone without milk for three days.

 

Her message captured the desperation she felt, expressing fears about her own health and her inability to care for her child. The mother shared her ongoing hardships since pregnancy and her desire for her son to have a future filled with love and stability. In a later post, she considered selling her organs as a desperate measure to afford a proper home and necessities for him.

 

This cry for help quickly gained attention online, drawing responses from concerned netizens, news agencies, and provincial officials. On May 13, medical personnel and officials visited the woman to offer initial assistance. Additionally, several social media users tracked down her location to provide donations of food, baby supplies, and money for essential needs like rent.

 

Amid the outpouring of support, the woman revealed receiving an offer from someone abroad willing to purchase her liver and cover her travel costs for the surgery. However, she reconsidered, stating she feared the risks involved and the possibility of never witnessing her son's milestones.

 

The mother's narrative has shifted to a hope of finding employment, although her recovery from a car accident poses a challenge. As of now, authorities have not detailed further plans concerning continued aid and support for her and her son. The story underscores the dire circumstances faced by some families and the potential collective impact of community empathy and support.

There is a welfare system, of sorts. However, one can't take out unless one first puts in.

 

If the government were to set up a widespread welfare system, they will first need to collect a hell of a lot more taxes.

My thoughts also. Seems to be able to access a phone and internet in order to sell her organs.

 

The pessimist or realist in me doesn't buy this. Seems like the usual attention grabbing social media freak.

 

Take the boy away. Anybody trying to adopt a child on FB is a complete liability as a parent and doesn't deserve children. See how quickly she sorts her act out then.
