As Inspector Clouseau once bravely stated:   "I assume nothing."     Please check the outer casing of the condenser unit, the outdoor unit on those Panasonic machines.

I think any big name brand should be good. You'll get best service and parts supply. I've had 5 (currently have 3), Daikin units and never had any problems. Good service on one callout under warranty

Also a Mitsubishi fan.  Now have 2 heavy duty inverters, and run flawlessly, conditioning much larger area than rated for.  Well built & insulated house.  Only 2.5 yrs old.  One runs almost 24/7 and the other about 10 hrs a day.  Use very little electric once up to temp.

4 Mitsubishis in previous house, 7 yrs on, no issues.

3 Mitsubishi in 1st house, 7 yrs on, no issues.

Need to keep clean, every 3 to 6 months for us.   Take care of them, and they'll take care of you.
