An English man who would have killed Bruce Lee

Featured Replies

I want to pay tribute to an English figther, Tom Aspinall, the current UFC Heavyweight interim champion. Unlike all the ugly nastiness that is so common in the UFC, Aspinall always embraces his opponent before each fight.

A true gentleman Tom Aspinall is living proof of Karma, in one of his fights his opponent broke his leg in a nasty kick. A few months later Aspinall himself kicked his opponent and tore his miniscus. However, he came back. He knocked out the Russian tank and he may well get a chance at the overall title yet.

Watching this heavyweight punch I feel sorry for his opponents, but Aspinall is also versed in Jiu Jitsu and his grappling is awesome. He is a heavyweight but moves like a lightweight.

Tom Aspinall is a true champion.

Lee was 50kg.

Yes, but all his speed would not have saved him from an almighty a$$kicking by Tom Aspinall.

He would have no chance.

1971 vs today didn’t produce the same level of fighting/fighter.  Martial arts, not heavyweight boxing.

Certainly not, if you watch Tom Aspinall sparring, the weight of his punches put George Foreman to shame.

But the amazing thing is that Aspinall is not just a puncher, but a large number of his KOs came with expert Jiu Jitsu.

Just a truly awesome fighter.

Dude, you don´t get it, right? 50 kg against 116 kg. Fair fight, right. Most moronic comment this year!

You're sure seem to be obsessed with Bruce Lee, are there any other martial arts masters that you would care to pick on?

Or how about fighters of very limited talent like Jake Paul? Better targets?

Lying Lee was not a martial arts master, he was a second rate actor and show off

You make yourself look stupid by your obsession of Bruce Lee. Different time different show, different reality and different league as well weight and size

Even I despise Jake Paul, he is a boxer who hit hard. Will he be a world champion one day? We have to wait and see.

He can box and he hit hard and have talent, just not there yet.

Oh, he also use juice, and are not clean, that's how he gained 25kg In few years

In their first fight Aspinall only lost because he suffered a torn miniscus early. In the rematch Aspinal defeated Blaydes by knock out after 1 minute.

Blaydes loses against Aspinall every time if Aspinall is not injured.

Shame Jon Jones is a coward

Indeed.

Jones is currently in Thailand where he’s been filming a reality TV show and hanging out with viral star Hasbulla.

On Monday, he tweeted about eating well and losing weight during his time in Southeast Asia.

A fan replied: “Enjoying your last days as champ before being stripped I see eh Jon?”

Jones hit back: “Stripped? Lol, do I come across as the type of person who cares about things like that?”

That doesn not sound like someone who is intent on fighting Aspinall.

I don't blame him, Aspinall is absolutely terrifying. Happens all the time in UFC, remember Shamrock pulling out from fighting Mark Coleman?

He dodged Francis as well.

Bruce Lee was an artist. He was, first and foremost, an actor.

He exuded a special aura.

There is sth almost mystical about his presence.

Which is why he is mesmerizing in his films.

If you want to focus exclusively on the fighting aspect, you can I guess.

There is something mystical about Bruce Lee, the mythical thing being his fighting prowess. After all, he perpetuated this myth that he was a master fighter in real life. Even concoted his own, ineffective, mish mash of styles, Jeet Kune Do. But he took the wrong styles for it to be effective.

His special aura is no doubt solely the result of his films being mistaken for real fighting.

He was more of a theoretician than real fighter, he thought a lot about martial arts. Sometimes he would get it right, sometimes very wrong. But he was not a doer. Don Frye did not write about water, but he would have wiped the floor with Bruce Lee.

But can YOU whip his ass?

Probably. He would be  85 now.

And around 40 kilos. And a lot slower at 85.

You can pay tribute to him all you want. But to claim he could beat Bruce Lee is just ludicrous. You have nothing to use as proof he could have done that as well.

Lol, you just have to look at Tom Aspinall. He moves like a lightweight, he punches harder than George Foreman. He has ended fights countless times with grappling techniques.. Bruce Lee would have no chance against Aspinall. None.

might as well be discussing a match-up between those pantless wonders porky pig and Donald duck,

????

They already fought twice.

The first fight Aspinall knee was damaged and lost the fight.  His only loss.

The second time they fought Aspinall knocked him out in about 1 minute.

Look at his films these days, if you want a good laugh, they really are third rate

There is no proof Lee actually fought anyone except his students, outside of his crappy films

Exactly right, which is what I said above too. I think Aspinal demolished Blaydes in less than a minute.
