Didn't the Thai government at the time spend several hundred billion Baht on the rice pledging scheme? That's why Loong Tu staged his coup in 2014, he fancied getting his mitts on some of that lovely lolly wanted to save the country from imminent bankruptcy, lol. So why fine her a mere 10 billion Baht, surely a hundred billion Baht would be more appropriate?

Number one she won't be liable for paying that money unless she returns to Thailand, number two this will hopefully prevent her from returning to Thailand, and number three if she does return to Thailand the Army will let her off scot free. Always remember one thing about Thailand, the Army is above the law, any and all laws. Thailand continually makes itself look stupid on the world stage, you cant charge a former PM with a mistake that cost millions, if that was the case every ex PM and President around the world would be in prison, they all have to make decisions for the better of the country, some work , some don’t, there’s no proof she personally profited from the rice scheme and we all know she wasn’t qualified to run the country in the first place, just like the current PM isn’t qualified to do so.

How can any leader make any major decisions if they know they are going to be locked up if things don’t work out  ?
