Dollars will exist, but having a million dollars wont mean anything. Better to have a million satoshis in 10 years. Thats .01 btc

Bitcoin has been around for how long now? 20 years? And I still don't understand what it is except that blockchain technology has some advantages over the current system.

It's not a hunch. Speculation is gambling. If Hotsun gets out when the going is good he will profit, but from the way he is bigging it up, that time has passed.   If you know where he lives, you might be able to buy cheap furniture

Bitcoin is math. Verifiable transactions on the blockchain, no need to trust anyone. Banks are going to be obsolete

Blockchain and crypto might be what replaces paper money, but not any crypto coins we see at the marked today. There is no benefits in adopting existing cryptos, when cantral banks can and will make their own national cryptos, with their own "watermark" and controll system. 

 

Other existing cryptos will most likely collapse.

Crypto is finished its just bitcoin now. You buy bitcoin to protect your savings, its not about making a profit

I am thinking exactly along the same lines. That's my understanding. Govt will step in and replace the current crypto. And it won't be for speculation, but as a new system. 

Govts probably don't like existing crypto because a lot of criminals are using it to hide their money.

This current system was made for boomers. As they pass the wealth will be funnelled by their heirs into bitcoin. Gold price will be stagnant or crash

China will try their own digital backed currency and will fail. Bitcoin will succeed because it doesnt require a trusted third party

Bitcoin is electrons in cyberspace. Why should I trust a medium of exchange where theft seems to average over $2 billion a year? Vulnerable to any hacker whizkid with a laptop.

I think throughout many threads on here, there is way too much cynicysm about what govts are doing. 

 

Or maybe some countries go completely off the rails, but the US has such a diverse economy. It's not a banana republic and therefore I don't think Trump is trying to run off with everyone's loot to the Cayman Islands.
